“Faith and a .45″ debut trailer
By unleashing a debut trailer, Deadline Games has unveiled its upcoming co-op third-person shooter, cleverly named Faith and a .45. Unlike its genre counterparts, this one is not another shooter set in the World War II era or the 21st century. To differentiate itself from the rest of the horde, Faith and a .45 is set in the 1930s, or more precisely, during the Great Depression.
The story centers around outlaws Luke and Ruby who differ from each other in that the redhead is religious and her companion is more down-to-earth (hence Faith and a .45). Since their friend gets kidnapped, they set out on a rescue mission, but little do they know that John Mammon, an evil industrialist who plans to make America his own, is behind the whole thing. Once they realize that they have gone too far and there’s no going back, they decide to take down the antagonist.
Due to not having a publisher yet, Faith and a .45 might go through a number of changes before it hits retail in 2009/2010. The game will be demoed to publishers next week at GDC.

I’m pretty darn tired of games set in old time periods. Bioshock was an exception to this, but it had non-real elements that made it interesting to me.
I’d say make GUN 2 before this game.
looks and sound a little to much like “kane and lynch” for my liking. hopefully its not like that, i’ll keep my eye on it ,but i personally reckon it will be a underpar game. although it is in early stages and it’d be harsh to say it’s going to fail so early on.
looks good so far might pick it up
I’m so tired of games that are just shades of brown and black.
looks a bit dodgy, “the redhead is religious and her companion is more down-to-earth ”
yes, with her unbottoned cleavage, mini skirt and knee length boots, she certainly screams ‘1930s catholicism’ to me…
id love to see an fps or story driven action game set in less popular (or less done) eras, the ancient civilisations of africa, south america or china- like crouchin tiger../hero or apocalypto, the victorian times or the birth of the industrial revolution, the civil wars that only get played out in strategy games by weird bearded men who sculpt little metal guys then blow them up. in their minds.
so many actual settings, nevermind the infinite
scenarios the human mind can create- and we still have shit-for-brains making ‘turning point’ and this channel 5 crap
Looks good. I’m all into the idea to let this play out during the great depression.
Actually looks pretty cool.
