Winning Eleven renamed
In an attempt to bring all of its soccer titles under the one banner, Konami announced yesterday that it will be dropping the Winning Eleven brand name in North America, and replacing it with the Pro Evolution Soccer monicker seen in Europe and Oceania. The name change will take effect with the next release, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.
Konami had previously tried to harmonise the difference between the two names, calling its last soccer release Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer. The Winning Eleven monicker will live on in Japan, where the series originates.
American soccer fans will be able to pick up Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on March 11.
I had problems getting my copy reserved a few weeks back cause Gamestop already had it listed as Pro Evolution Soccer and when they searcheed Winning Eleven nothing was showing up as an upcoming release.
I love pro evo 2008 but its online performance is very poor. We got a patch for it but i did not fix anything. Pro evo 6 was much better online. I will not buy the next pro evo unless they make the online mode playable…too much lag
