#1 Netflix does not stream HD movies so who cares whether downloaded HD is better than Blu Ray.

#2 Netflix does not download the movie to the computer it is watched as a stream.

And my opinion is Sony is the worst when it comes to how they treat their consumers. Support them and you help them to do more bad things like installing root kits off their CDs onto their customer’s computers without their knowledge, killing Lik-Sang, nasty DRM, etc.

6 hours for ONE FRAME of final animation. While cool things like shaders and AA help make computer game graphics look CGish, we got a LOOONG way to go before consoles will be powerful enough to look like Dreamworks and Pixar flicks.

I remember reading somewhere that the tech in games today is comparable to the CGI animation available when Toy Story 1 was released. Something like that….

Couldn’t you just build a game system that can handle games that have real computer animation?

as far as downloads to the 360? I think it’s very possible that netflix will use their own equipment to stream the media, in order to get movies you have to have their disc that you insert into the 360, who’s to say that their disc doesnt contain the info to connect you to the netflix servers to download the movies? I guess only time will tell.

last i checked when i go on the XBL theirs like 300-400 demos… on my ps3 theirs … umm… 15-20? now which service is more “game oriented”

and the dashboard works perfectly… the question you need to ask yourself who decided that taking an interface designed for a PSP mobile device, would be the perfect solution for a 50″ plasma.

analyst make those predictions every time around, its called a 5-6 year life cycle of consoles before pc’s start crushing them performance wise and they become obsolete… your beloved ps3 will as well.

they only havent mentioned the ps3 yet because sony hasnt really hinted at anything yet… and all their gloating about a “10 year console”… which was the same with the ps3… but its not true, they sell the old unit for 10 years but the new one is out after 5 just like the rest… the reason the extra 5 years? easy they drop the price to 120-99$ and they can still sell to the poorer families and countries for that additional 5 years.

The fact is come 2010-2011 we’ll see new consoles emerging from all 3 camps

And whoever decides the look of the dashboard should be shown the door, it looks a mess and become a pain to navigate to anything.

Still, With anylists predicting that both Microsoft and Nintendo will release new consoles in two years, maybe they have put junior staff or work experience in charge of recent upgrades. It looks like amatuer work.
