Far Cry was released with in-game advertisements from McDonald's just a little while ago, and it really was basically watching commercials between levels and during saved game loads. Advertising belongs in the fringes and margins of our entertainment time - not slap bang in the middle of it. For me - I'd rather pay a couple of quid and be free of the advertising guff. What kind of company calls their product "Bang Cillit" after all? On the interwebz, ads generate the revenue that goes to the devs. It would be nice to see great arcade style games like this supported by in game advertisements, free to the consumer. *sigh* someday ... I know it's a good game.... I've played it. (4 free) It would be nice to play it on a TV with custom soundtracks.... but why not break the trend and offer a game at 600pts.... or 500, 640 or 420 (pass that shit 2 me). I guess I'll wait... to see how well it translates to the big (little) screen.
