Seven XNA demos online
Previously you had to be a paying member of the XNA community to try out other people’s game creations, but now Microsoft has released a XNA Creators Club Game Launcher which allows you to download a small selection of these games.
The Game Launcher can be found on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and when it’s done downloading you can head to your game library where a new category appeared. Pressing Y opens up a new screen with a list of available XNA demo games. When the download is complete, the game can immediately be launched. The demos can only be played for 17 days, but that’s not really an issue as they’re relatively small. You can read a slightly more thorough manual on this Microsoft support website.

ummm, these any good? my routers fukt at me ma’s gaff..
i actually really like jelly car its so simply done but kinda cool somehow and the sounds make me laugh hehe
£65 a year is a bit much for the subscription. Pity. I’d like try out some of my creations on the 360 itself rather than just Windows. Sigh… maybe one day…
It is free and they are on the 360
its free on the 360, get the xna game launcher for free…. only the creator club for designing the games costs money.
what are you talking about you ass… the money is for creators … the downloads to play demos is as was said above… FREE… the developers pay for access to tutorials and premaid packs and stuff…
Thats a start!
The Dishwasher is my favorite
These are all amazing games. Please try them!
i like them all… but im a bit disappointed… the car one needs more levels and longer ones the idea is solid, wacky funny and great… the sounds are histerical and were perfect for the game…
but come on wheres more levels
i want more!
to be fair these are demos, i can’t wait till we actually start to see XNA games on XBLA
someone needs to tell them thta the “free xna games” banners on xbox live link to the wrong launcher, they link to the creators club one
hit and miss on these puppies. i guess that is par for the course for what we can probably expect from this launcher.
the dishwasher was definitely my favorite. jelly car was sweet, but like chris said, more level are totally needed. i hope people get into xna and come up with some serious shit.
same here
can’t wait to see what else comes out of the xna community now that millions of people can play their games and not just other developers
i wonder if they’l publish the download numbers for jellycar hehe.
and also theirs a way to get to other levels on jellycar im just not sure what it is somone said they did on a diff forum.
They only gave you some levels beecause they are demos…
So once you downloaded the launcher you have only 17 days to try out ALL of those demos or you have 17 days for each one once you started it?
17 days from the day that u run the demo i believe.
Is it just me or does ProximityHD crash everyone elses xbox too?
I bloody love that game on the internet, too.
At one stroke Microsoft have removed all the barriers to game development and more importantly to game publishing. We will have a flowering of innovation and creativity beyond anything the game industry has ever seen before. Probably beyond what any creative industry has ever seen before. The last explosion in gaming creativity was the bedroom Sinclair Spectrum coders in the 1980s (we have been going downhill creatively ever since), this will be thousands of times bigger. The possibilities are infinite.
is that john schappert? c’mon…
“microsoft have removed all barriers to game development?”
that doesn’t even make sense.
i think we will see some good shit on here, but i don’t think this is a revolution we are witnessing here.
It will be great since they anticipate 1000 games available to us by the end of 2008. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
But are some of these close to the limit? Or is that only for actual arcade games?
1000 games, XBLA and Retail … that doesnt include the XNA games, but their will probably be several hundred of those since their were 200 submitted to the last contest alone.
now that millions of people can see the games easily it will get indie devs very psyched and get them developing not to mention all the schools and individuals that are developing with xna too now can get seen by millions
i cant wait to see what they’re going to do with the next dashboard release, i get the feeling from rumors going arund that the launcher was step1, thats why it doesnt have the community feedback options yet and the whole “expiration date” thing
If you are a student in a participating university you can get the xna software + a 12 month subscription to the xna creators club (i.e. access to the beta in the spring) for free go here:

I can’t wait to see what happens with this.
Not to mention what else MS has planned for live and the 360!
dishwasher will be the third best xbla game ever.
Dishwasher has to be my second favourite xbla game ever, only Geometry wars can keep it off the top spot…
But the dishwasher is the white thing I let my wife play with in the kitchen.
I’m missing something… how do we (and can we) keep playing these games? My impression is they are not done/released and these are just previews, to be bought later as XLArcade games??
