Upcoming XBLA titles revealed
Alongside unveiling the magnificent 2008 line-up of 360 exclusives, Microsoft has revealed a sample of Xbox Live Arcade titles scheduled to grace the download service in the near future. The list awaits you behind the jump.
“Braid” (Number None Inc.). Developed by Independent Games Festival Winner and experimental game designer Jonathan Blow, “Braid” is a platform experience that bends all the rules with the manipulation of time. “Braid” will launch this spring.
“Castle Crashers” (The Behemoth). “Castle Crashers” is the second title currently in development by award-winning independent developer The Behemoth, creator of “Alien Hominid HD.” The role-playing game (RPG) adventure will let up to four players hack, slash and smash their way together through a visually stunning hand-drawn landscape. “Castle Crashes” launches this summer.
“Defense Grid: The Awakening” (Hidden Path Entertainment LLC). “Defense Grid: The Awakening” is the definitive tower defense game experience designed specifically for Xbox LIVE Arcade and launches this summer.
“Go! Go! Break Steady” (Little Boy Games). An Xbox LIVE Arcade exclusive, “Go! Go! Break Steady” is the debut title from independent developer Little Boy Games. The combination music and puzzle game combines break dancing with novel gameplay and launches this summer.
“Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness” (Hothead Games). The first video game collaboration between Penny Arcade creators Mike “Gabe” Krahulik and Jerry “Tycho” Holkins and legendary game designer Ron Gilbert, “Penny Arcade Adventures” is an RPG-adventure game set in a highly stylized 1920s universe filled with bizarre characters, outrageous combat and adult humor. The first episode of the game launches this summer.
Apart from Defense Grid: The Awakening and Go! Go! Break Steady, the list doesn’t show any new titles we haven’t heard about before. It’s good to see Castle Crashers will finally see the light of day after having been pushed back so many times.
Are you looking forward to any of these?

should have kept my wii
way better games
What? You can’t be serious. I expect the PS3 flamebait but trolling using the Wii. That’s a new one. I still haven’t even bought anything for mine, just the included Sports. None of the rentals including Mario Galaxy have made me want to own anything else for it.
So Castle Crashers is finally going to make it out.
lol gotta love that hes bashing on the 360 not only with a Wii but hes bashing based on a couple ARCADE GAMES not even the actual retail games LOL
That just shows how crappy the wii is in general, the Arcade section of the 360 is the direct compeitition to the wii, the rest of the 360 is like a bonus LOL.
I loved mario galaxy on my wii and the sports were cool but after a few weeks of playing them it was back to my 360 and thats it… maybe when brawl comes out ill go back for a week or 2 but give me a break, i own a wii and i wouldnt put it up against my 360 … EVER their in a different league
h’yeah, right
anyone know if castle crashers had the co-op online?
yep, 4-player online co-op
Mikey you soo crrazzzzy. Oh Ethan I would hope it does. Most likely yes.
wait… there is more to the 360 than Tom Clancy games and COD4? *evil laugh*
The only title that I’m really looking forward to here is Castle Crashers. That game is going to be amazing. I just hope enough of my friends buy it…
Where the hell is the arcade classic Space Invaders whys it not on XBLA we got pacman and frogger etc where is apce invaders..
What ever happend to Hoop World?
behemoth makes good games but ive given up on arcade, aside from real gems like metal slug and worms theyre just games you get for free on pc and it feels dumb to spend anything on them. if we had sam n max episodes, or a free set of board/card games that werent dull, then id be interested.
Too bad the 360 is slowly declining. The arcade games look to be the ONLY original titles coming out any time soon. Sure, there are always the great games such as GTA and RE.. But besides a select few games, it seems everything is a fuckin’ FPS with yet another goddamn bald space marine. Seriously, people.. It’s getting old.
