European Rock Band getting exclusive tracks

Europeans have been waiting for what feels like an Age to see Rock Band on these shores, so it only seems right that Harmonix should give us a little something as compensation. Exclusive tracks sound good, and that’s exactly what was revealed at last weekend’s Play.com Live event.

Button Bandits were on-hand at the event to actually play the PAL version of the game, and managed to get a hold of the full track list for the European version. Handily labeled “PAL Exclusive tracks” on the sheet, the following ten songs will apparently be right there on the disc when the game finally hits stores, er, soonish:

  • Blur “Beattlebum” (English)
  • Oasis “Rock ‘n’ roll star” (Englsih)
  • Tokio Hotel “Through the Monsoon” (English)
  • Muse “Hysteria” (English)
  • Les Wamaps “Manu Chao” (French)
  • Indochine “L’Aventurier” (French)
  • Playmo “New Wave” (French)
  • Die Toten Hosen “Hier Kommt Alex” (German)
  • Juli “Perfekte Welle” (German)
  • H-Block X “Countdown to Insanity” (German)

Certainly not a bad addition to the already substantial amount of content. It’s not clear whether North American rockers will get the chance to download the content at a later date or not, however this would make sense. For now though, Americans will have to dream about these tracks, while Europeans dream of actually playing the game.

As soon as I get home on Wednesday I’m going to play that song on my real guitar just to spite you bastards.

I wish there were actually some people with talent here for me to play with. Then I wouldn’t need a game. =[

Will all of those songs be on the european edition, or will their be country-specific editions, e.g. German Edition, English Edition etc.? Yes, the news says all of those songs will be on the disc, but i’m a bit frightened after the German editions of SingStar, in which so many greats artists have been replaced by Xavier Naidoo, Juli, Silbermond and Christina Stürmer.
Oh, and it’s quite funny, that one of the English songs is the translated version of ‘Durch den Monsun’ by Tokio Hotel - they should have used the German version of that song, it’s a German band and 90% of their songs are in German, so it’s very likely, that their English fans would prefer the German version, too.

Blur is great, Muse is super-great^^, i’ve never been a fan of Oasis and i’ve never heard of the french bands. Hier kommt Alex is a great song, but not very special, since it is in Guitar Hero 3, too.
