Viva Piñata officially announced [Updated]
The rumors were correct, Microsoft is working on Viva Piñata. Viva Piñata is a completely new franchise featuring a 3D animated TV show on 4Kids TV and an exclusive Xbox 360 game by Rare (Perfect Dark, Kameo) (and loads of merchandise probably). The game sounds a hell of allot like Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series.
Set to release this holiday season worldwide, “Viva Piñata” is a customizable, social and spontaneous game that invites players of all ages and skills to explore an immersive world where they are challenged to create and maintain a living garden ecosystem that grows in real time. Beginning with a few basic tools, players build and take control of their environment to attract and host more than 60 species of wild piñata, utilizing hundreds of customizable elements to create their very own distinctively unique thriving paradise.
“Viva Piñata” gameplay continues to evolve with new content available via the Xbox Live® service and the ability to play, trade and interact with more than 2 million gamers via the online service.

Looks good! I just can’t really make out what to think of it as a kids game, or an everyone game.
Sounds cool, I like the way they are using XB-Live to there full advantage, and graphics looks nice and cartoony for the kids.
will I buy it? Good god no!
The gameplay and concept sounds cool as hell, can’t wait to see it. But on the graphics side is a different story, the grass and that funky animal looks a little strange. Still, I think it will be a nice change.
Animal Crossing is pretty fun to play, hopefully this will be similar but this sounds alot more kiddy.

Im liking the idea but dont no about the graphics seems to kiddy for me…

For the guy who commented about the grass being strange, it is because the graphical style resembles a Piñata; hence a frizzy paper look.
I hate 4Kids but this looks like Space Station Silicon Valley. In a word:
