Bungie is smart, this is a lie and therefore Bungie does not say anything in order to keep secret the true facts. I forget exactly what got leaked, but when the first Halo was in production some valuable game info was leaked. Bungie responded with a counter post the next day. They made a lot of effort to keep the information from spreading. So far nothing has come from Bungie. If you realize how Bungie works and reacts than you will realize that this is bullshit.

Also, all the creator of this article did was take some information from the books (which Bungie didn’t write) and manipulated it. The forerunners are just one of the mysteries in the story line. Knowing what I do about Bungie I think they are smarter than to reveal information on the Forerunners this early in the series. Bungie is based around story; however the novels are based around fiction and sometimes the things that Bungie only wants hardcore fans to understand. I bet that the names John or Dr. Halsey mean nothing to 95% of the people who read this.

Well thanks for you’re time, and remember Bungie would not allow Game Informer the first public preview to such a secretive game.

So IDK… im goin to have to think abour this one.

And regarding any information during E3; anything you see @ E3 regarding anything “Halo” you should expect to contain a funky buttload of junk. The info regarding Halo 2 at E3 was limited and contained scenes/gameplay that was not even in the final release, which pretty much made it useless. It was the equivalent of me designing the next Ferrari, showing it to you, then modifying the crap out of so that essentially the only recognizable element from the originally showing is the fact that it is indeed a car, it is fast, and it has my logo on it, and if you are lucky, it has a seat and a cigarette lighter.

Just because the title is not Halo 3 does not mean they are not creating the next strategic element to the “Halo” franchise. Think about it for a second, Halo 2 left off POST Forerunners, so to title the game “Halo 3: Forerunners” would be idiotic in my opinion. But to title the game “Forerunners” and dub the game a precursor to the epic Halo series makes much more sense, and if you are really looking for it, adds some plausible legitimacy to the article above and gives credit to the claims that they are not working on “Halo 3″. This would also coincide with the movie, if the movie(s) is/are done in a linear time line fashion.

So you habitually distrust any news item you read from March 1st to April 30th every year just because it may be an April Fool’s joke?

I’ve long thought that this would be the most legitimate way to continue the story, give us a prequel. If the next game (in a forward moving story line) would only contain MC and not the Arbiter, bungie would be making a foolish mistake, seeing as its become obvious that that there is a rift in the covenant with the death of the second prophet (to the flood). That was the reason for having us play as Mr. Arbiter.

I believe that Forerunner will feature other Spartan IIs, it may also feature S3s (read the halo books if you havn’t already) basically they will be a flash cloned army that basically will create a cross between the Star Wars Empire Stormtroopers and the Spartans. And there is where another story line may lay.

Forerunner won’t be the last halo game. If forerunner does indeed give us a more complete look into who the ‘forerunners’ actually were, then the next one will feature the end of the covenant (death of the last prophet), destruction of the brutes and allies, unification of Elites and Humans against S3 forces. Which of course could never be contained within one game/book/story whatever.

This franchise could very likely go on for up to 3 games. And it may adopt the Extremely successful model designed by Unreal. Create a Multiplayer version released every 1.5-2 years with new innovations (larger maps, more players, pelicans, amphibious craft, ability to survive underwater *cough*, more weapons, return to old weapons… the like) And a game released less commonly that continues an epic story.

Anyway, hope that my musings have helped stir up the thoughts for the game.
