New Mirror’s Edge footage is intriguing

Coming out of the Playstation Gamer Day held on Tuesday is new footage from EA’s surprisingly interesting Mirror’s Edge, a “true” first person game which has gamers leaping from rooftop to rooftop, as well as climbing and balancing. Hit the jump for it all to make sense.

As the video says, it’s all in-game footage which is extremely promising. It’s certainly very interesting to watch and leaves you wanting more, just to know how exactly the control scheme will work. Stay tuned for more, as the game is expected to ship in late 2008.

You may want to fix the coding for this page =P

Also… “Hi the jump for it all to make sense.”

Oops, thanks for the SP.

However what’s wrong with the coding? The post displays fine here…

My resolution may be wrong, but just in case, I just see a huge gap between the first paragraph and the video?

Ahhh Internet Explorer was being shit again, changed the source so it’s all fixed now. Thanks for the heads up, and get Firefox ;)

and ya i kinda like the camera view its sick, but really… is it just jumping from buildings to buildings that will get boring in about 45 seconds….

wheres the explosions and things to avoid etc

also is it running on a rail or is it go anywhere ?

The only thing and I mean only thing I saw that was wrong was the reflection off the window after she slid down the wire. But the game looks amazing.

Everything looks like Crackdown if its a city you can climb nowadays… Apparently…

Anyone heard of Parkor? I think that’s what it’s called when people do this stuff for real. Don’t know how fun this would actually be.

parkour or free running doesnt include disarming military with lightning fast precision or jumping the extreme heights of this game. this will be nasty dont you worry

one question… when sliding forwar don that cable why the hell are her feet in front of her shouldnt the speed and momentum push her feet backwards not into a sitting slide … looks odd.

I saw a glimpse of this in a recent issue of Game Informer, and I was craving some more info on this game. It looks intriguing. I look forward to getting home and off of these work servers so I can actually watch some streaming media.
