People in Europe were up in arms when Wits and Wagers was revealed to only be available in Canada, the United States and the UK, as it resulted in a second successive week of no title hitting the Xbox Live Arcade service. Given our diverse range of readers, Xboxic got in contact with developer Hidden Path for some answers. Today they replied with an email that will bring smiles to those currently without the game.

Hello Ross,

Yes, there are plans for additional region/language support.

We clearly hear many of the players out there who are looking for regional questions in their own language so they can get this kind of game play relevant to them wherever they live.

Hidden Path Entertainment is a small indie developer and with Wits & Wagers we now have the great opportunity to self-finance the development of this version of the game and release it directly with Microsoft online on Xbox Live Arcade. We very much look forward to working with North Star Games to utilize newly developed questions and create new questions in different languages for different countries or locales moving forward.

We want to apologize to all of the interested folks that we couldn’t afford to support initially at our launch with more question packs than the initial three for the US, Canada and the UK and we ask for their patience. As the game is enjoyed primarily in these three English regions, we’ll better be able to reinvest in this franchise and develop new questions for other regions and other languages. I’m sorry we couldn’t afford to do it all on day one, but we will work very hard to expand our support and provide more content to everyone.

Don’t give up hope just yet then Europe, the game could well be coming in the future to an Arcade service near you. It’s reassuring to know that Hidden Path want to reach as many people as possible with region-specific questions, something that will surely be appreciated when it gets released.
