North America to get Euro Rock Band tracks next week
Remember those nine songs that were supposed to be exclusive to the European version of Rock Band, the Xbox 360 edition of which finally releases in Europe next Friday? Well, so as to not leave North Americans out in the cold, Harmonix has announced that the tracks will be made available to the US and Canada as part of next week’s new DLC.
Here are the nine songs coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace this coming Tuesday, 160 Microsoft Points a pop:
- Beetlebum as made famous by Blur (cover)
- Hier Kommt Alex by Die Toten Hosen (master)
- Countdown to Insanity by H-BlockX (master)
- Perfekte Welle by Juli (master)
- Manu Chao by Les Wampas (master)
- Hysteria by Muse (master)
- Rock N Roll Star by Oasis (master)
- New Wave by Pleymo (master)
- Monsoon by Tokio Hotel (master)
Also mentioned in the Harmonix update was that the entire North American repertoire of downloadable songs up until this point will be made available in European territories and Mexico on May 20th, and not the 27th as previously thought.
For those not in the know or simply forgetful, next week will see the following two songs reduce to 80 Microsoft Points:
- We Care A Lot - Faith No More
- All the Small Things - Blink 182

No, he’s not taking video games too seriously,, he’s just upset, that the so called exclusive songs of the european edition of Rock Band will be released for the US-edition of the game a day earlier than the EU-release of the game, so we europeans, who have been waiting half a fucking year for the great fucking game and paying fucking double the fucking price as the americans, 370 DOLLARS, taxes included, have been fucked again. Hey, i could live without those songs on the gamedisc, i would be happy to pay just 170$ and download those tracks for less than 2 dollars each…

If you’re bitching about how much it costs, why did you ante up in the first place…? Obviously they know the correct price point for the game, or else no one would buy the thing and they’d be forced to lower the price.

Which would you rather have: a more valuable currency, or a cheaper video game?
Silly comments my friend, it has nothing to do with the value of the currency but the buying power of the currency.
The cost of living is more expensive here for the types of everyday things that the economy basis the cost of living on, bread, milk etc. So we are in turn paid a higher sum to combat this, except in cases like electrical goods or software where the difference in price is not relative to the difference in the cost of living.
Having a more valuable currency only aids us when we go somewhere with a weaker currency (like the US currently with the debacle caused by sub prime lending and the dodgy dealings of the Fedral Reserve with the practice of fractional reserve banking) and when we do the fucking goods like software are regionalised to stop us taking advantage of our stronger currency.
Little economy lesson for ya there.
Anyways, apart from the sterotypical Yanks on Live shouting the same unfunny phrases over and over again (”SPEAK ENGLISH DUDE, I CAN’T UNDERSTAND YOU DOUCHE!! I must say I have grown to like the place and the average American, well, in the Illinois area at least anyway, ain’t travelled to the deep south yet but plan on making a trip there with the American gf next year sometime so that should be interesting.
So to put it bluntly, we are being screwed but at least I am getting screwed slightly less than I used to with the regular trips to the States now.
Oh, so now there’s a EUROPEAN version of Rock Band, Xboxic?! Great, I’ll go get it right away!!!
Oh wait - I forgot; there’s nothing even close to an EU-version of Rock Band. It’s not even announced for Europe. There is, however, a BRITISH version of Rock Band, but then again, that’s all that really matters for Xboxic, right?
