Aces of the Galaxy & Roogoo gracing XBLA this Wednesday
Microsoft has just put out a press release detailing this week’s new Xbox Live Arcade additions and much to our delight, it’s another duet of games. Both coming in at the price of 800 Microsoft Points, Aces of the Galaxy and Roogoo will be joining the XBLA roster this coming Wednesday.
First thought to be out by Winter 2007, Sierra Online’s Aces of the Galaxy is the latest old-school arcade space shooter to become available for the download service. Like many before it, the 3D rail shooter will task the player with annihilating hordes of trigger-happy enemy space ships, in this case those of the evil Skurgian Empire. The player will be able to do so either solo or with a friend at home or over Xbox Live.
Features
- Co-op multiplayer: Fun multiplayer mode allows you to play cooperatively, both locally and online over Xbox LIVE.
- Unique temporal shift feature: Use the temporal shift to slow down the hordes of enemies and prepare yourself for the battle.
- Retro action, next-gen gameplay: Classic retro-arcade shooter action mixes with stunning next-generation visuals to bring the action up close and personal.
Roogoo is being marketed as a “new and innovative action based-puzzler with addictive gameplay†that sees players side with the Roogoo to defeat the vicious Meemoo. The key to victory is to guide shaped blocks through a series of rotating discs that need to be properly aligned so that the meteors can pass through.
Features
- New puzzle mechanic: Roogoo features unique 3-D puzzle mechanics where players guide shaped blocks through rotating disks in order to bring them to the ground for high scores while defeating the evil Meemoo.
- Gameplay: Race through 45 progressive action-based puzzle-filled levels.
- Multiplayer mode: The game features robust head-to-head two-player split screen competition over Xbox LIVE for a seriously fun race mode.
- Attack meter: Race to build up your Attack Meter and place enemy Meemoos on your opponents’ disks to give you that extra edge to knock out your competition.
- Local party play: Play with one to four players in one game to complete any level. Work as a team and as an individual to get the best score.
Does either of these two games tickle your fancy?

Roogoo Gracing ??
Gracing is the verb.
I understand the confusion, there are 3 letters missing in front of that verb– “dis”
I was thinking what a shit name it was for anything…
“…players side with the Roogoo to defeat the vicious Meemoo. The key to victory is to guide shaped blocks through a series of rotating discs that need to be properly aligned so that the meteors can pass through.”
Yes, that strategy works well, if the players can stop laughing at the children’s storybook names.
can you spell wii?
I’d like to see you defeat Meemoo some other way.
good point!
Did you know? For the price of both of these games, you can get Penny Arcade Adventures.
And for the price of Penny Arcade I could by a 24 pack of Stella.
I know where my money is going.
I’m actually quite curious which would last longer.
