Hmm so many other Rush songs that would be good I don’t get another release of Working Man. Or Closer to the Heart compared to something like A Passage to Bangkok which I’d love to have. RHCP I guess are OK I’d like some older stuff from Mother’s Milk and earlier.
Don’t see myself buying any this week and I can’t really because my 2nd Xbox just gave me the RROD. At least Microsoft is covering them for 3 years so I don’t have to pay anything to get it fixed. They told me on the phone they’ll be replacing all that hardware inside so I’m assuming I’ll be getting the 65nM chips and motherboard back in the replacement.

Those are good RHCP songs, but not great. Anything from Blood Sugar Sex Magik would have been much better, but again, those 2 songs aren’t bad.

As for the Rush songs, kind of weak to release another version of a song already out, but Closer to the Heart is pretty good.

Stadium Arcadium is a disgrace on the testiment that is the human endeavour.

They definitely could’ve just chosen the best songs and put them on one CD instead of filling two with a few gems and mediocre material.

Wow, couldn’t agree more.

I still don’t know what the hell was up with the freestyle thing at the end of the second disc (Jupiter?).

I think you’re talking about Mars at the end of Death of a Martian. But yea, I still don’t understand why they released it in 2 discs with so many songs that just seemed like fillers (Stadium Arcadium, Hey, If, Death of a Martian, Hard to Concentrate, etc.) instead of 1 disc with some solid songs (Snow, Charlie, She’s Only 18, Tell Me Baby, 21st Century, etc.).

Yeah, Death of a Martian was the one. I dunno what they were thinking with that… spoken word doesn’t seem to be their forte.

I actually liked Stadium Arcadium. :P It’s kinda fun to play, at least. The one I didn’t like that seemed to get a little more coverage was Desecration Smile. It felt like they were trying to make Californication again.

All in all it just made me feel like it might be time for them to throw in the towel. :(

Forgot about Desecration Smile, I really don’t like that song. I’m not a huge fan of Stadium Arcadium, and I’m kind of surprised to see that you think it’s fun to play (I’m assuming guitar?). I don’t mind slow songs, but something about that particular tune just bothers me.

And yea, about 2 weeks after I purchased the CD, I was thinking that they should stop making more albums. They have a great selection up to now, and there’s no need to go and spoil it with less thought-out and more unimaginative songs.

Yeah, I am talking about guitar. Maybe fun was the wrong word… it’s a good zone-out song. It’s not super difficult, and the solo doesn’t use a lot of techniques. It’s great to just sorta play and relax to.

Plus, the tone John Frusciante uses in the solo reminds me of surf rock at half tempo.

Strange you should say that, I even tried playing each CD at 140% speed. It kinda sounded like the old days for a little while, then just got boring again.

Well I must disagree with nearly everyone here.

I have been into the Chili’s since the start (well maybe a couple of years after since I was only born when they were getting together but the first Album I got was “The Uplift Mofo Party Plan”).

I for one think Stadium Arcadium is quite a good album but then again I also like a lot of the B-sides too, which is maybe where a lot of the songs fit in, but at least it saves me buying all the singles to get them(which is where all the “fillers” would have ended up).

Why complain about it being on two discs and having what some people think are “fillers”, it’s for the same price as a normal album, seems like a good deal to me.

But perhaps the reason I do like it is that I find the material yet another evolution of what they have provided in the past. One thing you can say about the Chili’s is they don’t churn out the same music year on year like a lot of other shorter lived bands.

And I do owe to them the fact that I took up the bass guitar, heard them and thought, “Oh hold on, you don’t have to be a Singer or Guitarist to stand out” and have been playing for almost 18 years now.

fuck off troll

isn’t it funny while 360 players are busy playing games, ps3 players are busy trolling forums… iw onder if thats saying something

Yes Chris - it speaks volumes… the PS3 is an overpriced, box with only roughly comparable gaming capability as the 360 (for Flid CrudShed’s benefit) BUT WITH FAR FEWER DECENT GAMES.

Can’t blame the PS3 gamers for spending time on 360 web sites… they’ve almost nothing else to do.

;-)

If the ps3 stuff is to get people to hate me more, that’s not even really possible. So I guess you’re even more of a dumbshit now. But keep it up, it’s funny to watch the lemmings fall over the cliff whenever you post.

Whenever I post something really stupid or annoying, it’s clearly not really me… it’s definitely an imposter trying to tarnish my good name.

Whenever I post something, that upon later reflection sounds fair, considered and rational, I’ll be happy to take full credit.

Everyone OK with that?

You have a good name on here? I’ve never seen you post something that wasn’t a troll. Xboxic should just require you login with your forum account to post comments. Problem solved with impostors and childish trolls.

You are like stubborn tyre tread in the bottom of the toilet bowl. No matter how much we flush and scrub, you still soil and stink our otherwise fresh bathroom.

Be gone Skiddy Shithouse… be gone.
