Planes speeding to Burnout Paradise?
If the announcement of two-wheelers coming to Burnout Paradise as part of the Davis software update knocked you off your feet, we suggest you grab hold of something sturdy (a desk will suffice, yes) when we fill you in on what Criterion is thinking of adding to Burnout Paradise further down the road. All set? Good, head inside.
In one of its recent updates, the developer revealed that it is “experimenting with planes” for one of its future updates, though none of the upcoming ones. But still, planes?! We know the Criterion dudes and dudettes are some serious adrenaline junkies, but, seriously, the idea of flying planes in a Burnout game never crossed our minds as a possible future addition to the series.
On a related note, the forthcoming Cagney update for Burnout Paradise has been slightly delayed for the Xbox 360 – it’s now set for release on July 14th, four days later than expected, thanks to the lovely Microsoft certification process – while everything remains unchanged for the PS3 version.
What’s your take on planes possibly coming to Burnout Paradise at some point in the future?
Thanks to Colby for submitting.

PLANES =S
4 days isn’t 2 long to wait since i havn’t played burnout in a few months anyway
It’s nice to see that, thanks to the world wide web, English is finally dying as a language…
Indeed, lots of people seem to speak Moronish instead of English these days.
Chadwardenn speaks the biggest Moronish than any person on this site EVEN more than Kid Outhouse and that is saying alot.
i’d be very surprised if they actually graced us with flying vehicles, but even i have my fingeres crossed.
and what exactly are we getting on the 14th? just a couple new game modes and bug fixes? i can’t believe we haven’t gotten that yet!
it seems like they have been talking about this shit forever, but i think nothing good comes in the cagney update.
here it is: yeah, pretty much nothing in cagney.
“”Cagney” may be the most substantial offering yet, but even greater things are on the horizon for Burnout: Paradise in 2008. The “Davis” update, due in August, will add drivable motorcycles and nighttime racing to the game, while this fall’s “Eastwood” update will bring the promised access to “islands” outside Paradise City.”
so, to sum up. we get an update on the tenth filled with bug fixes that we should have gotten at release, and we wait at least another month for motorcycles, and then at least a couple of more months for the “islands” (which were clearly visible in promo maps released for the original game).
THIS GAME HAS BEEN OUT FOR HALF A FUCKING YEAR!
ea makes me feel used and dirty. speaking of which, anybody been sloshing through the fucking swamp that is the bad company ea servers. i think it is safe to say they suck like a bitch on every level. it would be a decent game though.
So I wonder, will you be racing in a plane against other planes and bump into them to make them crash???
This really seems like an odd thing to add to a burnout game.
If they do it I hope they can make it interesting and not,”Oh here is a plane you can fly around paradise city and look at shit”
planes wil b ABAP aite cus chadwardenn can go shootin fake ass ballas aite
I see you have a complete disregard for the english language, “aite”
chadwardenn dont no wot u sayin aite chadwardenn iz balla aite
well, we finally just got this shitty update, A MONTH LATE, and about 381 megs over-budget… 400 megs, for a couple crappy assed game modes? what the hell.
is anybody still satisfied with the way ea is spoon-feeding us this bullshit for breakfast? let’s all enjoy consuming our last few available megs on our drives for a thimbleful of lama snot. thank you ea, may i have a fucking nuther?
