Microsoft Bringing E3 Home; Too Human demo next week

With E3 2008 just around the corner, Microsoft has announced today that this year the Xbox Live Marketplace will once again be host to a plethora of content from the E3 show floor, including game trailers, news, interviews, gamerpics, themes, and demos, as part of the “Bringing It Home” campaign.

Bringing It Home will kick off on Monday, July 14, the day Microsoft E3 press conference will take place. Though we’re yet to see what exactly Microsoft has in store for us, the publisher did confirm that the much-awaited Too Human demo will finally release on the Marketplace sometime next week.

What would you like to see hit the Marketplace next week?

Thanks to Symbiot for submitting.

Not just on market place, but what i would like to see from E3 is: conformation of when the expansions for GTA4 are coming. Announcment of a new project gotham game would be cool, An Idea of if/when we in the UK are getting TV show downloads, some free content. An anouncement of a web brouser for the 360 and some Good XBLA titles, and less talk of motion sensor contollers. Also Metal Gear 4 would be cool.

NO, NO, NO. No web browser on 360 please. It is not required one iota. 360 is a media console IE games, videos, music, etc. Not web pages. That’s a completely different issue. The world wide web is simply a vehicle for media, not a media in itself. That’s what PCs/Macs are for. Not games consoles.

And let’s not get on to the subject of security. I do not want viruses on my 360 thank you very much. Nor do I want spammed to death via my 360 messages inbox.

Whoever keeps asking for this, please think about the consequences before you whinge about browsers on games consoles again.

linksboks works incredibly well on an old xbox, i can’t see why a browser couldn’t be safely implemented into a 360. it is handy to be able to surf from the couch once in awhile.

Just because it can be done, doesn’t mean it should be done. Sadly, M$ are terrible in this respect. Can we put Messenger on 360? Yeah, so let’s do it. However, it simply doesn’t belong. The same applies to a web browser. It doesn’t belong. It can be done, but it most definitely shouldn’t be there. I want my XBox to be excellent at doing at defined range of things. I don’t want it to be weak at trying to do everything.

why do people keep going on about viruses people who have a ps3 or wii dont complain about it

Comment by The_Glovner on 2008-07-11 13:40:41 | Reply

The browser on both of them are shit so I browse the net from the comfort of my couch whenever I am on Live by powering up my laptop.

No browser thank you, waste of fucking time.

Thank you Glovner. The same principle applies to web browsers on mobile phones as well. Utterly useless over complication of gadgetry. Some would say that should be a tagline for almost every M$ product. They generally start out with a good idea and it soon becomes bloated with loads of crap that you don’t need. Look at Word.

And now we’ve got Messenger on 360. Bollox. Not required. Web browser? Not required. Do I want it to make me a cup of coffee in the morning? No. It’s NOT REQUIRED. Do I want to play games, movies and listen to music on it? Hell, yeah! That’s what it is, a media playing device, that’s all. Not a PC.

i see what you mean everyone will use it for a few days then everybody would realize how pointless it is

Here’s a statistic for you Tony. Of the number of complaints that arrive at companies doorsteps, they only consist of 10% of the people who actually have reason for complaint. Most people don’t have the balls to fight for something that they believe in and prefer not to “make a fuss”.

I couldn’t give a damn whether PS3 or Wii owners DON’T complain. That tells me nothing, particularly when you reference such lightweight machines (IMHO). The point is I am complaining because of something I strongly believe in. Browsers don’t belong on Games Consoles. That’s what PCs are for. There. I’ve said it.

im not saying their should be a web browser on the 360 im just saying there hasn’t been any reports of viruses on the other consoles

I hate to say this but so far Too Human looks soo terrible… I really want to try out this demo, i’m really hoping that it might change my opinion of it because not many decent games are comming out for a few months…

Too Human demo this early is a very brave move by Microsoft. Never thought they’d actually release it 4 weeks prior to the games release. That’s almost suicide.

Comment by Symbiot on 2008-07-11 16:02:37 | Reply

Demos can be very make or break, so it could also be a great move if the game is good.

Comment by Voyager2k on 2008-07-12 11:02:51 | Reply

Unfortunately, while the idea is indeed good, the game suffers hugely from beeing rushed to market. It’s nowhere near ready and has been cut down quite a bit. Considering the time it takes to publish a demo (not even considering the time it takes to make one in the first place) the code version of the demo has to be quite a bit older than the recent preview builds that were handed out to the media.

Considering the state of the game I’d say this is one of those demos that won’t help sell the product.

Er, Alan Wake? This title promised SO much but is now in danger of being too little, too late (if at all). Not interested at all in a browser (and can’t see it happening tbh), GOW2 demo is not going to happen (these titles sell regardless).

I’ve already lost the will with GTA but hopefully we’ll get some info on Saints Row 2.

I’d be very surprised to see a Gears 2 demo on the MP. The next biggies for me are Fable 2 and Silent Hill : Homecoming.

However, the prospect of co-op mayhem in Too Human certainly appeals to me. We’ll see if the demo delivers and it may well quote me happy.

I’d “like” to see a Rock Band 2 demo seeing as it’s coming out in September and they already seem to be quite far along on it.

like the guy said above the webbrowsers on the wii and ps3 are shit and suck badly thats why they created laptops and pcs/macs. Im really happy about Too Human demo because from early previews it seems like the game is not liked at all so this is our chance to judge. Also a dashboard update announcement and Fable2 demo would be welcomed.

Comment by 360champ on 2008-07-13 09:48:59 | Reply

oh and forgot sum kind of fu**ing news on ALAN WAKE would be very much welcomed.
