Konami’s Rock Revolution dated for Europe
In its bid to keep up with the Guitar Heroes and Rock Bands of this world and make sure that it doesn’t miss out on the music/rhythm boom of this generation, Konami, which arguably created the genre with titles such as Dancing Stage, has developed Rock Revolution - first announced in May. Today the developer confirmed that the title would arrive for the Microsoft Xbox 360 in Europe during the first quarter of 2009.
As you’d expect, Rock Revolution has players following on-screen prompts as music blasts from their television - banging on the drums or fingering wildy on their guitar as required. The game features over 40 different tracks to jam along to in single and multiplayer co-operative modes, while Konami promises that regular song packs will be released to keep you coming back again and again. What’s more, the Studio mode allows you to ‘freeform’ your own tracks, and record them for prosperity. Whether you’ll be able to share these compositions with other users isn’t yet clear.
Konami might have been pioneers in the music/rhythm videogame field, but whether Rock Revolution can hope to compete with the likes of Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 is another matter entirely.

Yet another set of peripherals to buy! No thanks! One set at £170 is plenty.
I think there probably a little late with this one.
