It’s official at long last! id Software’s long-coming new iteration in the Wolfenstein series has been recently officially unveiled as Endrant Studios’ first project in a co-development partnership with Raven Software and Activision Blizzard. That’s a lot of developers working together on a single project.

Set in a near-fictional, World War II setting, Wolfenstein thrusts the player into the shoes of the returning OSA agent BJ Blazkowicz who is once again forced to battle against the dark forces created by a greedy, supernatural Nazi organization. Alongside a crew of resistance soldiers, the protagonist slowly uncovers the powers of a dark parallel dimension in a story-driven combat experience. On the multiplayer front, the game will feature the traditional team-based objective multiplayer, replete with a wide arsenal of conventional and supernatural weapons.

More details and footage are expected to be revealed at id’s QuakeCon on July 31.
