Dragonforce to bring more pain to Guitar Hero III

We know that even the slightest mention of Dragonforce’s Through the Fire and Flames (see!) brings back painful memories of sore fingers, so we’ll refrain from stating the song-that-must-not-be-named from here onwards. Anywho, the band’s record label RoadRunner Records has announced that Guitar Hero III fans haven’t seen the last of Dragonforce, as there’s more coming in the near future.

Scheduled for release August 21 for 500 Microsoft Points a yet to be determined price, a Dragonforce three-pack for Guitar Hero III will pack the following tunes:

  • Heroes Of Our Time
  • Operation Ground and Pound
  • Revolution Deathsquad

Warm up those fingers, Dragonforce fans! You won’t regret it!

Thanks to Brett Dunlap for submitting.

this stuff is cheesy as hell. remember, just because something is hard to do, it doesn’t make it worth doing.

Ya but if someone likes the songs then it is worth doing to them.

I like how all of their music sounds the same.

Oh, wait, no I don’t.

I think you are missing the point.

That it’s supposed to sound ridiculous?

Of course Dragonforce’s songs all sound the same and feature ridiculous lyrics, but that’s the beauty of it. The band knows it, the fans know it, and so should all of us.
They aren’t a band to be taken seriously. Think of them as a more technical version of The Darkness when they were briefly around.

Then, everything becomes clear.

They can do all of those other things without making 7-9 minute songs that are all indistinguishable from each other, though. I never cared about the lyrics, just that listening to the CD got old after two songs when there were only seven in the first place.

I’ve seen some of their live stuff, and a lot of it is very funny and impressive (though sometimes sloppy), but it just gets tiring when it’s the same stuff over and over. The Darkness managed to be a joke (in a manner of speaking) while still making music that I didn’t get tired of.

I guess I’d compare it to a B movie that’s trying to hard to be over-the-top that they pass the funny line and go into obnoxious.

The Darkness are a tribute band. A pub band at best in terms of level of deserved stardom.

The world will buy anything with a glitzy cover.

Dragonforce is a fantasy speedmetal band. They aren’t to be taken seriously. They don’t make angry growling metal that you probably listen to, so you wouldn’t understand.

I would understand, because I don’t listen to any one genre exclusively. I enjoy Tenacious D, I enjoyed the Darkness, and I enjoy things like the Protomen and even Weird Al on occasion. The difference between all of those bands and Dragonforce, though, is that they can all do it while making music that doesn’t sound the same track-for-track.

Thanks for the foolish assumption, though.

I just saw them at the Mayhem festival a couple weeks ago. They put on a good show and the guitar playing is awesome but man they have a lot of cheesy songs heh.
