It’s here Rock Band fans – the metaltastic pack of six new downloadable tunes that we reported on last week is now ready for download on the Marketplace. Don’t forget that the six-pack will be available for the low price of 480 Microsoft Points only for a month, so you better get it while it’s still hot, in other words, until the end of the promotion.

Damn these are some tough songs. Took me quite a few tries to get Devil Driver on hard guitar down. Working on the rest of the songs then on to expert.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Rock Band, but this is more proof that the designers of this game really dropped the ball on the drums. There should at the very least be an option to buy and plug in another pedal.

With that should come the option to turn on “all bass drums” or “half bass drums” depending on how many pedals you have instead of forcing the half pedal thing on us.

And if you accept the fact that we have half bass drums for most double bass parts, why do they still make us play the bass drags (most times done with 2 feet) on 1 foot?

Completely Agree. Would love the option to play with 2 pedals instead of just doing half the notes.

The half/full notes option would be good to help get the feel of the double pedal without instantly getting reamed by a barrage of twice as many bass beats.

We can only hope for it in Rock Band 2, even though the UltraPro (whatever its called) $300 drumset only comes with one pedal which makes me think it wont make it into the game.

Rock Band 2 drumkit WILL have provision for double bass pedals.

Comment by Worms on 2008-08-13 15:48:27 | Reply

Yeah it will the standard RB2 drum kit will allow you to plug in a second bass pedal and cymbals.

Nice. Is there anywhere this is confirmed, or just speculation? Also, is this just for the UBERDRUMS or for the standard RB2 Drumset?

Nevermind the last question, I didn’t properly comprehend what you had wrote.

Official FAQ stating the RB2 standard drums will support double bass pedals.

Well… looks like I’ll be owning 2 sets of drums in the near future.

Thanks for the confirmation Worms.

Same here I’ll be buying the disc and set of drums next month. My current guitars are still fine for the moment.

Yea, I have the Les Paul, which is broken but temp. fixed by putting a bunch of rubber bands attaching the neck and the body, and the RB1 Strat which is LOUDER than my Les Paul, those damn fret buttons are annoying so I just use the LP.

Would be nice to maybe trade in my Strat towards the Bundle in Oct. but I don’t think I will be able to resist not buying the standalone game. Plus, what the hell will I do with 2 microphones, I barely use the one I have now.
