New details on Need for Speed: Undercover emerge
There’s been some talk of Electronic Arts’ upcoming new iteration in the long-running Need for Speed series, but nothing substantial. That changes today with EA’s official announcement of Need for Speed: Undercover, providing new details about the street racer, as well as a release date.
Like EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed back in June, the concept of Need for Speed: ProStreet was “not good,” so the team decided to go back to the roots with the 2008 installment. As such, Undercover’s gameplay will be similar to that of Most Wanted, one of the more memorable Need for Speed titles, and will include the series’ renowned cop chases and highway battles, plus a story-driven approach.
Said Bill Harrison, Need for Speed Undercover Executive Producer:
“Need for Speed Undercover features a deep and engaging story of spectacular Hollywood-style live-action that will transport players into the fictional world of the Tri-City Bay Area. Working with talent the caliber of Maggie Q allows us to deliver an unparalleled level of storytelling that will keep players engaged in between 180-mile an hour races.”
Engaged, we believe, they will be, yes. In addition to keeping players’ eyes on the screen, Maggie Q will guide players as they go undercover, take on dangerous tasks, and compete in races so as to infiltrate and bring a “ruthless international crime syndicate” to its knees.
Unsurprisingly, Maggie Q is a racing fan and believes Undercover won’t disappoint:
“I’ve always been a fan of racing games and working on Need for Speed Undercover was an amazing experience. I was so impressed by the scope and quality of the overall production that goes into a videogame these days. It was like any other day on a Hollywood set; I felt right at home. The Black Box team is doing tremendous work here and I can’t wait to see the final game.”
Need for Speed: Undercover is being developed by EA’s Black Box and is slated for release in North America on November 18 and Europe on November 21.

Those cars look very nice.
Need for Speed Most Wanted pics.
Lolz
“so the team decided to go back to the roots with the 2008 installment.”
Ah that is music to my ears! I have loved all of the NFS games and then they just destroyed it for me with Pro Street.
i know everyone is hyped now but lets wait and see the full game pans out.
I dont think EA really know what going back to nfs roots really is. if they did this would be a mixture od high stakes-hotpursuit style racing.
Agreed and they need to, but they won’t.*sigh*
at lease underground is mix in. that’ll be the only reason i’ll buy undercover
Maggie who?
I can’t wait to bring down a crime syndicate by, uh… racing cars?
Bringing them down to their knees….just like your mom. Ohhhh, insult master.
My moms dead……
yeah she choked to death when she was goin down on me…
Hey, that’s not me!
I’d never make a comeback as stupid as that.
Or use that many ellipses.
its probably ’some guy’ replying to his own comment since it was only two minutes after his other one.
Wish I had got here sooner, that was prime opportunity to get in with the line:
“Guess that’s why she didn’t move much when I skull-fucked her then”
Or she didn’t move much because of your thumb dick!
why are you still making these jokes mum jokes are so old and he says that it wasn’t him saying it.
idk bout you guys but i loved prostreet n still play it, it has some bugs but the car customization is cool, hopefully you can still mod ur cars camber n motor output n stuff, be fuckin awesome if they combined all the best aspects of the games into this one.
Looking at the first screenshot my hope went up as it looked like a modern day version of Porsche Unleashed. Oh well at least it looks like the races are at daytime, I never liked the Underground series.
Most Wanted was the last good NFS game IMO, they really need to keep it daytime as well, night racing games always suck. My fingers are not crossed as i suspect this will be crap like the last few games have been.
They talk about immersing you in a story to keep you engaged in between races, well i don’t want anytime between races i want to go from race to race, simple radical concept i know, but hey i can dream.
they should have night and day and sort of the music go back to the underground 1 & 2 music
i always thought most wanted was the best NFS game, this sounds promising
Same here.
most wanted was and is one of the crappiest nfs game next to prostreets!!!!!!! no hardcore nfs gamer likes most wanted thats like playing prostreets. and they both sucks…. a serious nfs gamer would want a mixture of hotpursuit-underground…..or mixture high stakes-porshe unlease style racing
It’s an arcade game, not a simulation game so of course it’s not Forza. Second, there is a hot pursuit element in the game, in fact I don’t think you know what Most wanted is if you had to say ” a serious nfs gamer would want a mixture of hotpursuit-underground” because that’s essentially what it is except in the daytime.
ive given up on NFS is was disappointed by all after underground, and underground 2. the rest have been mediocre at best. midnight club la looks good.
The_Glovner roocks cocks!! hell yea
You mean sucks don’t you!
Awww look, another pasty faced fat little fuck living out his dreams of importance on the tinternet.
Good one cockbracket, like the approval of Steve really matters worth a fuck.
nooo i dont, i love The_Glovner , he leaves the BEST fuckin comments
hey people, this game looks amazing. its gud that EA have gone back 2 cop chases and hhigh intense battles.. pro street wasnt that gud as it was only on the track rather than on being on the streets. most wanted was the best and this one should follow on with that.. cant wait til it comes out, gona be sik!!!!
get midnight club 4, its better.
