[GC08] Konami unveils Lords of Shadow
Konami has grabbed the opportunity at this year’s Games Convention in Leipzig to bring to light a brand new intellectual property from its European Product Planning department, titled Lords of Shadow.
Due for release in 2010, Lords of Shadow is an action adventure game that can be “best described as a dark fairy tale” in which players take on the role of the mysterious Gabriel. To hold a candle to a “wide range of monstrous enemies and huge, screen-filling boss creatures,” the protagonist wields a special multi-functional weapon system called the Combat Cross which allows him to whip enemies with an extendible chain, stab them with a sword-like weapon, and more.
Commented Dave Cox, Executive Producer and Head of Product Planning for Konami:
“Lords of Shadow is a momentous title for us. Every element of the game pushes the host hardware to its limits, with Mercury Steam producing a game that has breath-taking visuals, incredible cinematic qualities, and varied and engrossing gameplay. It is truly an epic game but telling a human and emotive story. This is a title we hope will set a new standard for action-adventure titles.”
Lords of Shadow is in development for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Hrm. Show me how this is different than PoP/Ninja Gaiden/God of War, and maybe I’ll be interested.
What was wrong with any of those games? I thought those were all very enjoyable.
thats what i was thinking.
if it ain’t broke, rip it off.
