Meteos headed to XBLA in Japan later this year [Update]
Q Entertainment, the guys behind Lumines Live, have announced that the action puzzle game Meteos, which appeared on Nintendo DS in 2005, is being ported to the Xbox Live Arcade. Subtitled Wars, the XBLA version of Meteos is slated for release on the Japanese download service in October.
Update: Joystiq has confirmed with Q Entertainment that Meteos Wars is hitting the US Xbox Live Arcade in October as well, priced at 800 Microsoft Points.
The game requires players to link up matching blocks which then causes them to shoot to the top of the screen like some rocket ship, thus keeping the bottom playfield uncluttered. Meteos Wars also features multiplayer battles which pit two players against each other and other extras, like customizing characters by completing certain Achievements.
No US (nor European) release has been announced yet, but given that Lumines Live was made available in all Xbox Live regions, we expect Q Entertainment to do the same for Meteos Wars.
