Fable 2 CE now cheaper and less special
Hobbe lovers, prepare to be disappointed. In an unexpected twist of events, Microsoft today notified select retailers that the Collector’s Edition of Fable 2 will be stripped down with regard to the contents, and consequentially, also reduced in price.
Due to a “significant supply chain issue,” the Collector’s Edition won’t include the lovely Hobbe figurine, nor the colourful fate cards. As a result, the price will drop from $79.99 to $69.99. The Fable 2 Collector’s Edition will now feature only the following:
- Fable 2 game disc
- bonus disc with a new behind-the-scenes making of video
- Live trial card
- additional in-game content (Xbox Live required)
The Fable 2 Collector’s Edition, now sans the Hobbe figurine and fate cards

I got a good deal on the LE for $66… with the price drop and less contents, it’s barely worth it now.
Meh well least they reduced the price to the same as the regular edition and I get my Spartan Armour
Now the question is this, will those of us that have already preordered and paid off the full 80 bucks be refunded the 10 bucks or whatever it is that they got from us before this price change?
Yeah you will get the difference back from your reserve.
I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, and since they don’t charge until the item is shipped, it’s just automatically lowered.
hmm, thats a shame. cant wait to play the game though!
I don’t need kitsch. I wanted the bonus in-game material, and that’s not changed a bit. Who cares about the rest? I’d prefer to pay less. One less Hobbe cluttering up my room now.
The Fate Cards will be made available in a PDF. The added content is what I really care about and now it’s 10 cheaper.
But now you’re paying $10 extra for content that’s already going to be on the disc and a DVD you’ll watch once.
I wanted the other stuff because I liked the aesthetic appeal of it. Printing the fate cards out on 8.5″ x 11″ standard paper is not going to be attractive.
Well I would like to get the hobbe and the fate cards with it ut, I think since it is cheaper, it is better. Now I dont have to spend as much money. Besides all you really need is the game and the extra content.
