Age of Booty and Crazy Mouse hitting XBLA tomorrow
Microsoft has announced that Capcom’s real time strategy game, Age of Booty (previously known as Plunder), will be gracing the Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow for 800 Microsoft Points. Curiously absent in the press release was the news that Ultizen Games’ Crazy Mouse will also be made available tomorrow, but for a whole 400 MSP less.
Age of Booty is an original game that tasks the player with commanding a pirate ship to destroy the opposition and seize control of towns for the benefit of the player’s pirate faction. Players will be able to one-up their enemies by upgrading and customizing their pirate ships.

…anyway, saw a review of AOB in XBOX mag. Got great marks and actually looks interesting. Might be worth downloading the demo.
Yeah, there are so few strategy games on XBLA.
Tried the demo out earlier. It was actually fun. Well worth the pick up.
Yeah - not bad, if you don’t have a self-indulged fkwitt on your team who runs off with all the ship upgrades (leaving the rest of team weaker and almost certain to fail).
Some reasonable tug of war moments to control towns and battles - but the strategic element is quite shallow and there’s not much scope for skill to influence a battle.
Good for a couple of hours - to pass the time till we can fight Skorge the Locust!

slow news week on xboxic it seems. Nothing happening lately or just the xboxic team going AWOL/going on holiday all at the same time?
Normally on wednesday we should have seen that these demo’s were now up on XBLA.
When I downloaded them yesterday I noticed a couple of other demo’s that I must have missed here. There was a Darts championship demo which really sucked.
Anyway, I have been a faithful reader here for the last two years but I’m beginning to think about looking for an alternative.
There isn’t a lacxk of news what about TGS news? what about this “Forwards Compatablity” rumor? What about the class action lawsuit in California against MS for the RRoD? I dunno what happened but if this isn’t updated soon i am out.
Have you checked out teamxbox - the quality of their writing varies a bit - but a good stream of news, previews and reviews.
Certainly a bit more to get your teeth into over there right now.

Have to say i am feeling the same - i visit the site daily and have done for the last 2-3 years, although im not a regular poster i am always here nearly every day. Xboxic has always been good to me keeping me very up to date with the news and i appriciated it, but its not just the last 4-10 days there is numerous demos and content i have stumbled upon across on other sites then checked back here and no mention of it,3 months ago that was unheard of with xboxic always being in the know.Come on xboxic we love the work you do but i to will have to go elsewhere to get my fix if its not sorted soon.

I think it’s when you smoke naked with a boner. I really don’t think this place will die. I think if worst came to the worst Curry would hand the rights over to Ross if he wanted it, if not some of us regulars from the forums would gladly take over, this is if Curry had no other choice but to shut down for good.
