Dearest readers, all of you will have noticed the news has pretty much dried up here of late. Sadly, writers have come and gone and as it is at the moment, we simply don’t have enough contributors to get the job done. Some of you are pleased about this, others not so much. Therefore we are asking you, fellow fans, to save the site you love…
If you have the necessary English skills to do a competent job, then we are interested. We hope to hire around four or five people who demonstrate the want to do a good job for free. We have a rigid editing system in place (yours truly) and at this time of year, there’s absolutely tonnes to post about.
If you are interested, here’s what to do. Simply write two posts about any subject relevant to Xbox in the style of Xboxic. So basically we are looking for a serious news article but with more personality than what you get on other websites. Bring your post to life with your own wit and charm. Just a couple of guidelines:
- Must be 18 and over
- No first person narrative
- No headings or titles other than the leading headline
- For normal articles we expect three paragraphs minimum (so don’t send in your articles that are based around a demo released, with details copy-pasted from Major Nelson!)
We don’t have too many rules and despite this being a voluntary position, there are standards to maintain and we do expect at least one post per day (there is usually opportunity for more of course). Obviously we make exceptions for holidays! We don’t plan to start up Reviews and Features right away, but if you think you have a good idea then you’re more than welcome to suggest whatever springs to mind once selected.
If you are interested, send along your two articles to email@example.com where all staff will be sure to read every single entry we get. Don’t forget to provide a contact address so we can get back to you. Where possible, we aim to respond to everyone who sends stuff in, successful or otherwise.
There’s no real closing window for this, so don’t rush it and hopefully we shall hear from you soon! Let it be known that on behalf of the whole ICGamers staff, we are sorry for this temporary interruption of service, and we hope to return as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
