More Mercenaries games in the works
The semi-recent release of Pandemic Studio’s open-world third-person shooter, Mercenaries 2, wasn’t met with as much critical acclaim as EA had hoped. However, that doesn’t mean the game didn’t do well on the commercial side of things, as it sold more than 1.9 million copies, on a par with its siblings Spore and Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’09 sales-wise. As a result, EA is planning to capitalize on the franchise’s commercial success by making more Mercenaries games in the future.
EA CEO John Riccitiello has gone on record saying:
“There will be a Mercenaries 3 and, if I have anything to do with it, there will be a Mercenaries 10.”
We don’t doubt that, Mr. Riccitiello, not at all! Let’s just hope that Pandemic Studio has enough fresh ideas to keep the popular game series from growing stale…

Mercenaries 2 is a great game. Lots of fun in co-op too. I’m up for more of that action.
I’m still waiting on that DLC that was supposed to arrive last month.
I have mercenaries 2 and to me it was a waste of money the game was really generic i think i got about four hours out of it, just wasnt my kind of game.

ugh, Mercenaries 2 was an alright game at best. Wayyy too many bugs and glitches that took away from the fun I was having. Inconsistent health, clipping issues, and bugs galore. If they want to do more Mercs games then they really got to step it up and actually finish the game before it’s released. That said I would like to see a Mercs 3, it can be a real good game if done properly.
