Street Fighter 4 coming to consoles in February 2009
With Street Fighter 4 already available in the Japanese arcades for some time now it was bound to hit the consoles sooner or later. After almost 11 years without a true sequel, the waiting ends now that the official Street Fighter 4 webpage has announced a February 2009 release for this new iteration in the series.
Don’t jump with excitement too soon though, because this release date has only been confirmed for the Japanese market for now.
An official release date for the European and American market has not been set at this point but Capcom announced that news about the US/EU date will soon hit the street too. With the 20th anniversary of the game in 2009 it would be a nice surprise if they decided to go for a simultaneous global release.
Let us hope that the rest of the world will not have to wait much longer or else the Japanese will have a major advantage when playing online against them in a classic bout of Street Fighter goodness. Ultimately we all have to ask ourselves the following question; Ryu or Ken, Ken or Ryu…
