Halo Wars sales figures

Heard about the latest RTS introduced for the Xbox 360 known as Halo Wars? Well, just in case you didn’t know, Halo Wars is based on the back story of the multi-million dollar franchise entitled Halo. This game takes place 20 years before the original story in Halo: Combat Evolved began. Halo1,the original Xbox’s killer app, took the video game world by storm back in 2001. Well now it’s 2009 and guess what? Apparently sales are good. Really good. In fact, reports that over a million copies have been sold in its first month on the shelves.

Although Halo Wars is a part of the Halo family, it wasn’t made by Bungie as all previous titles had been. Ensemble Studios created this gem. For those of you who don’t know, Ensemble Studios most widely played franchise was the Age of Empires series. It’s a little ironic that a successful development team got the boot, but life goes on. The question is: Did Halo Wars sell a million copies because it’s a good game, because it had Halo in the title, or both?

Strictly speaking? It was a halo title, other than that, not that great of a game for me. I should’ve stuck with a renting but my friend convinced me otherwise.

This game only sold because it’s halo. It’s a shitty RTS.
