Infinity Ward responds to CoD2 complaints
Two days ago a topic was posted on the Xbox.com forums on the subject of Call of Duty 2. The poster claims to be from Infinity Ward support and states they are developing an update to resolve the lag issues.
Since its release Call of Duty 2 has sparked many enthusiastic reviews. And just as many frustrations from avid gamers in love with the game’s setting and style, but unable to play the game because of some ridiculous shortcomings in the multiplayer area: bad server match-ups causing ridiculous lag, no private game hosting, bad lag handling, no game options whatsoever in multiplayer. Many claim the multiplayer was sacrificed by publisher Activision because they wanted to have a launch title, and considering that 3 out of 4 Xbox 360 owners bought the game that has even proved a good idea from their point of view. But they alienated many gamers in the process with the multiplayer problems.
The full post from user IWsupport reads as follows:
Infinity Ward is aware that some players have experienced challenges with lag issues and we are currently working with Microsoft to create an update that will resolve it. We’re tuning and testing possible solutions, so it’s too early to provide specifics. We are aware of the issues at hand and we will keep you posted as soon as we are able to confirm details surrounding an update. Thank You!
Sincerely,
Infinity Ward
So is it authentic? The topic is set sticky, and the user has undocumented special community level D, so at least the local moderators have reason to believe it is authentic, and since they are working for Microsoft in a way they would not do such an action without proper verification. So actually we have no reason to suspect this being a prank.
I shall be waiting in my trenches for this update to appear on my system.
