Is Call of Duty: World at War 2 about to be born?

Currently Treyarch’s ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ is almost in its 6th month since release. The game itself was developed and completed fully around Summer of 2008 with final testing and tweaks being worked on before a full retail release late last year. If you were to think of each game in development as simply a job - now that one job is complete what must a company who relies on making games do next? Well they simply make another one!

Whilst Call of Duty addicts around the world are waiting desperately for Infinity Wards ‘Modern Warfare 2′ the long awaited sequel to ‘Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare’ it seems evident that Treyarch are about to start work on a new project which they have called “…a Triple ‘A’ First Person shooter.” and are currently actively seeking staff to work with The Call of Duty Team.

They require a Senior Artist to focus on making in game assests including Vehicles & Weapons for the Triple ‘A’ First Person Shooter and a Level Designer to work for the Call of Duty Team who must have a passion for First Person Shooters. Nothing has been officially announced by Treyarch or Activision who publish the titles, but based on the facts alone that Call of Duty is Treyarchs only Triple ‘A’ First Person shooter and the job advertisements are for real people to work real jobs, then things are clearly moving forward within their Call of Duty team.

Will this be World at War 2, Modern Warfare 3 or something entirely different? either way we wont be likely to see a possible release until 2010 but Xboxic will endeavour to keep you informed!

Jeez Treyarch just give it up already!
I won’t be buying it, that’s for sure.

Modern Warfare 2 on the other hand, will be preordered hard and fast.

I disagree… I like World at War, and after playing COD4 the other day after a long hiatus I was simply reminded of all the horrible things about it. World at War has its own problems, but I haven’t found any of them to be nearly as frustrating as those in COD4 aside from the MP40.

Modern Warfare 2 will of course be bought at some point on/around launch day, but I assure you it’s more for the campaign than anything else. Unless IW has fixed multiplayer, I think I’ll be staying away from it for a while.

Yay \o/

I played CoD4 few weeks ago and it does feel outdated and old now. Those who never bought CoD:WW have so missed out on a great game and multiplayer experience. Most online games have experienced lag at some point - Halo3 for instance is still just full of it…

I gotta disagree there…The only thing I can find wrong with COD4 at the moment is the large amount of rubbish team mates on there!

COD:WAW (Or Cods of War as I call it ;) ) does my nut in, every time I get the urge to play I only last 2 rounds before I’m sick of it.
This is mainly due to the crappy spawn points, which mainly are either in the middle of about 5 close-by enemy soldiers, in the middle of an enemy airstrike, or right in the way of an enemy grenade.

COD4 has little issue with this, which is why it’s a whole lot more fun to play.

Cods of War haha…well we all got modern warfare2 soon hooray!! I always seem to banish the old CoD to the drawer with every new one…

Ahh, there are so many things in COD4 that annoy me… M16, P90, Three Frag, frag bombing during the start of matches, martyrdom… just to name a few.

I actually haven’t had any bad spawns on World at War in a while. I know they exist, I guess I’ve just had a good run. I don’t mind being surrounded so much, though. It’s a nice feeling when I spawn next to an enemy sniper and sub machine gunner and I pistol one to death and stab the other as they come up behind me. And then kill the exact same person again a minute later when they come to get revenge. :D

I haven’t had many bad spawns latly, so they must have done something to fix it. It used to be really bad!!!

I swear if they try to take Infinity Ward’s “Modern Warfare” title and make number 3 I am going to sue Treyarch. I hate Treyarch, they are stupid bastards who can’t work for them selfs and make a decent game.

Silence!

LOL easier if you just dont buy the game… I cant wait for any Call of Duty regardless of who made it.

WaW is TERRIBLE. I bought it launch day and played it for a couple days then went back to COD4. I too try WaW every once in a while but it is so… boring. If Treyarch makes a MW3, it will end the Modern Warfare franchise.

I agree there - I think finally IW with Modern Warfare now have their own ‘thing’ Makes me wonder if Treyarch are making another WWII game. I’d like them to go further back to WWI !

i think more like Vietnam or Korea because WW1 was boring. most of it was people sitting in trenches for years and the Russians had almost no weaponry when they fought the Germans it was so bad its not even funny.

Yeah Vietnam would be a pretty good Call of Duty setting - OK fingers crossed then :)
