Microsoft reannounces end of 360 shortages
Little over a month ago Peter Moore claimed that “within the next four to six weeks, anybody will be able to walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360″. Moore isn’t the man to break his promises, because today, 6 weeks later, Microsoft informs the world about their inventory surge.
Beginning this week, Microsoft will distribute two to three times the number of Xbox 360 consoles to the retail channel weekly. With component supplies in full production and third manufacturing partner Celestica Inc. now producing the next-generation console along with partners Wistron Corp. and Flextronics Corp., Microsoft is producing more Xbox 360 consoles than ever.
So whatcha waiting for? Go and get it everyone!

Good I need another for my bro..
They’ve been available off the shelf in Bristol since January…strange.
Wana mail me one??? lol
Seems to depend very much on the region. Here in the Netherlands it’s afaik still near impossible to get one near Amsterdam, while they’ve been in plentiful supply in the more rural north-east of the country.
Do you guys anticipate the same supply shortage problems for the PS3 (especially since their ‘worldwide launch’ announcement)? If so I’m pre-ordering a couple and making cash on eBay. What do you think?
Guy; I expect the same shortages. Cashing in on shortages is just lame.
Why is it lame to cash in if the shortages are inevitible? The buyer will be happy to have the console, the seller will be happy to have the money. Win-win?
I waited forever for a 360 but because of MS ‘hoarding’ 360’s so they could do a re-launch and say, “Look how many there are now.”, I’ve totally lost interest in the system. Besides, there are only a few good games for the system. Sorry MS, you screwed up, my money is being saved for a PS3!
All I can say, it’s about damn time.
