Epic Games, if you have never heard of them before, you have more than likely heard about their titles. Gears of War, Unreal Tournament - and the appropriately named Unreal Engine which provides the platform and tools needed to develop cutting-edge 3D projects and the backbone to such Epic creations. It was announced during E3, that Epic are entering into the Xbox Live Arcade market with their first title named ‘Shadow Complex’ a side scrolling platform shooter with the potential to be one of the greatest XBLA games ever made!

The game plays similar to most 2d old school platform shooters, but the visuals are all 3D and have been created with a lot of depth and detail using the Unreal Engine 3. You play as a Solider through over 10 hours of gameplay, some huge boss battles and plenty of weapons to play with including a ‘goo’ shooter. A brief E3 09 Trailer revealing some of the game play is certainly worth watching.

Shadow Complex is currently being developed for XBLA with no confirmed release other than Summer 09. Pricing is also to be confirmed.
