Gaming Manuals on Xbox.com
In case you are not familiar with that heap of bound paper that comes with your game disc - the very one that starts off informing you about the dangers of having a seizure after you look at the pretty picture on the front. That is the game manual, otherwise known as the object which gets tossed aside because we all know how to press the buttons and we don’t want to be told to take rest breaks inbetween gaming. It’s our eyes, so when they hurt we know how to blink!
Due to a slip on Xbox.com today which may have been intentional to test anyones awareness, Mass Effect was listed as the first full retail title available for download. No sooner was it up - it got taken down again, but with the information on the RSS feed of new arrivals it informed us new online gaming manuals are inbound.
This makes a lot of sense to include awareness of how to read the manuals online, since purchasing full retail games over Xbox Live ‘Games-on-Demand’, there is no green box to hide it away. For anyone that doesn’t usually know that [A] is jump and [RT] shoots, you will soon be able to download or read the booklet online.

I’m going to be curious of the price when it arrives, since I think I will be better off going to the shop and buying a used copy for cheaper so saving both money and hard drive space.
Failing to see the appeal, unless it is purely the ability to stay sitting on your fat arse stuffing you gapping maw with cheetos.
I think most games will be £19.99 - I am hoping it doesn’t encourage people to sell 2nd hand games at the same price.
At the moment, 2nd hand games in a store vary from £7 to £15 for old ones.
If this requires one to pay for it, then what would be the point? 99% of the time manuals are completely useless. If it were free, then it’d be great, as I’ve rented games and not gotten the manual with them, so it’d be nice to be able to check the manual out.
