Xbox360 Consoles in France to get Canal Plus
Whilst gamers in the United Kingdom are awaiting access to the Sky Player for on-demand content via Xbox Live, it seems a similar deal has been agreed between Microsoft and Vivendi unit ‘Canal Plus’ so that Xbox live members in France will be able to access video on demand, Live TV Streaming and French Football.
The Xbox360 Canal+ Service will open up access to more than 3000 on demand movies, soaps, period dramas and sporting events. Gamers will be able to simultaneously watch the same content with friends via console media party options where avatars and interactive chat is also permitted. Microsoft and Canal Plus said they would eventually extend the partnership to other Canal Plus products as well as other Microsoft platforms.
If you live in France, this is great news - but if you live in Sweden we currently can not comment.

What about Poland ?:) I know that we don’t have officially Xbox live, but maybe we will get it with canal plus (we have got canal+ service in our country). Have you got any information about polish xbox live?:)
Nothing for Poland - it’s terrible that as not as if Poland is a 3rd World Country or anything!! Has anyone from Poland tried creating a UK Xbox Live Account - and buying UK Gold Codes from ebay? Maybe that will work!
Jason it’s working when you create your account as UK xbox Live citizen but you need to buy your xbox points etc on ebay or other auction service:/ I really don’t know why Poland is treated as 3rd World Country:/ I just want a polish xbox live and canal + service … ;/
Frankly put, the Microsoft “treat-Europe-as-a-zillion-different-regions” is getting really, really tiresome… it’s more or less something new announced every day that excludes parts of Europe more and more from the usual “selected regions”. Sigh…
For that you have to blame your local laws, not MS policy.
