Halo3: Heretic, Citadel and Longshore Maps
Since today is Bungie Day, the Halo developers have given more details of the upcoming 2nd part to the Mythic Map Pack which is only available from Halo3: ODST retail disc. The three maps are called Heretic, Citadel and Longshore - we guessed that you probably knew that already, but some new screenshots are below.
Heretic returns players to familiar ground as the Halo 2 arena “Midship” makes its long-rumored debut in Halo 3. The stark interior of the Pious Inquisitor might appear austere on first glance, but Heretic’s symmetrical spaces require players to execute complex strategies in order to outplay their opponents.
Citadel may be a long abandoned Forerunner stronghold, but its small, symmetrical confines are far from secure. Two opposing bases offer little safety for players looking for solace. Instead, Citadel forces small squads to stay in constant communication, keep their heads on a swivel, and be prepared to adjust combat tactics in close quarters.
Longshore lacks the commercial ships that once made it a lucrative port for Old Mombasa, but it still bustles with activity. Designed for large scale combat and well suited for smaller affairs, Longshore’s multitude of industrial buildings, elevated walks, and open inlets conspire to create a complex battleground tailored for multiple combat scenarios.
All three maps will be embedded on the ‘Halo3: ODST Disc 2′ due September 22nd, which will be the Halo3 Multiplayer Experience featuring all 24 game maps and forge options.

midship was the worst halo 2 map. That sucks.
Seriously?! Midship was awesome! Can’t wait for these maps!!!
Radical
Im looking forward to Longshore more than the others.
I actually liked Midship for LAN games. I’ll be happy to have it back. Very chaotic fun.
Is this all? 3 maps or are there more to come? Two actually since one of these is halo2 map. Of all the maps on halo3 I prolly played 3 of em last night, still crappy rotation.
This is the final 3 maps ever for Halo3 making 24 in total.
the recent bungie vs. the world playlist had 37 user created maps done with forge.
They could theoreticaly have unlimited maps in rotation, so long as they accept community created stuff.
I’m sure there’d be a vetting process to weed out the crap, but you’ve got to admit, it does offer a lot of potential for long life.
Although at first I didn’t take to Halo3 much - I have to honestly take back everything I said about it since it has stood the test of time and constantly slowly revamped itself over and over with maps, user created content, regular double xp weekends - contests… other developers should learn something from Bungie in keeping an old game fresh!
For a game that’s almost two years old and still in the limelight is pretty impressive.
