Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Revealed [Update]
The collectors edition of Modern Warfare 2 has been revealed as ‘Prestige Edition’ in this brief video below, the whole kit and kaboodle is unboxed for your viewing pleasure.
There are three editions being released: Standard, Hardened and Prestige as shown in the video.
The contents of all three are as follows:
Standard Edition:
Just Modern Warfare 2 Game
Hardened edition:
Modern Warfare 2 Game, Metal Casing, Art Book, Original ‘Call of Duty 1′ for Xbox Live Arcade.
Prestige Edition:
All Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition Content, Fully Functional Night Vision Goggles, Soap McTavish Head for displaying the goggles.
No confirmed details on pricing just yet when this is released world-wide on November 10th 2009 - but forget about that, lets just drool. With the original Call of Duty 1 coming to XBLA also, we now have more than enough to get excited about!

Details of the US Pricing for all three packs have been revealed as listed below. Infinity Ward have also confirmed that when the original Call of Duty 1 makes its debut on Xbox Live Arcade, it will include full online multiplayer options.
Standard Edition ($60)
Hardened edition ($80)
Prestige Edition ($150)
Prestige and Hardened Editions have not yet been priced in other locations outside of the US.

Don’t get excited folks, these are either going to break before they even arrive in your hands, or this edition is going to cost several HUNDRED dollars AT LEAST. Take a look at how much night vision goggles cost, several hundred to THOUSANDS of dollars. You think a pair that comes with a VIDEO GAME, is going to work?!?!?! Don’t let the hype fool you.

Actually, my roommate has a fantastic pair of working night vision goggles that he got for around $90. Nobody’s saying these are going to be military grade.

and 2 the most expensive limited edition ive ever seen was the MGS4 one and there was only 4 on sale here in Australia it cost me 180 bucks on day of release.

Sorry to say this guys n gals but i spoke with a senior manager at Game today and he told me that he was told the prestige edition will not be coming to our shores. North America only as this is a very limited edition.
Doesn’t necessarily mean its true obviously as thats not official, i hope its not anyway :’(
It’s total bullshit, if the Prestige Edition was going to be that limited - it would have been announced by now officially through IW and FourZeroTwo. Plus that edition has been crafted up to try and maximise the most money as possible from fans… this game has one of the worlds biggest marketing companies behind it also to try and make it the biggest game launch in history!
That I am afraid, does not limit it to one country!!

Considering this is the first time we’ve all learnt of CoD1 coming to XBLA and the NTV Goggles, could have been better presented.
150 bucks? Not bad, I’ve spent a little less for a game with a Collector’s Edition, but this is certainly not out of my reach.
In the UK - the standard edition is meant to be priced at £55 which is $90 equivalent for our cheapest version…
