Going to Japan? Bring me a 360!
GamersReports got a hold of a new Japanese ad, selling the Xbox 360 Premium for the rather nice price of $170 USD, and some nice games like DoA4 to go with it for a whopping $26. I’d almost order two just to have a spare.

There’s a catch to it ofcourse, as always. This time it’s not because you’re signing up for a few years of phone contract, but because the store “collapsed” according to the translator at GamersReports. Regular prices are still at $307 in Japanese high street stores. Which is, obviously, still frustratingly cheap for the same pack which has been sold out permanently for the last few months in the US at $400, and in Europe at 400 euro.

Wow…depressing.
Especially as we Europeans pay even more, with about 480$ (400€).
American prices are without taxes, do prices do net differ that much
Hmm I should phone one of my Japanese contacts^^. Kidding.
Wont these units only work in Japan?
Officially; yes.
But if you have a decent step-down converter (which has a 100 of 110v output) and a TV which is capable of displaying NTSC-J (just about every modern TV, younger than 5 years) you will be perfectly safe.
My normal Xbox is a Japanese one, and I found no problems whatsoever, save for my rather small TV.
At least a small TV cannot be a large problem
