For U.S. residents itching to spill a little Covenant blood with their friends, keep an eye out for the custom-created Halo 3:ODST Transport Vehicle at a Gamestop near you. Lucky gamers will get the chance to try out the new multiplayer mode themselves and possibly even win some Halo swag.

Firefight mode has no matchmaking… which makes it pretty lame. What if I wanted a round at 2am when I couldn’t sleep one night? Tough shit…

“With this game we wanted to make sure everyone knew this was built off the Halo 3 engine, which is why we left Halo 3 in the title of it,” says Creamer. “That was basically one of the limitations we had, that we couldn’t just add matchmaking for Firefight because it was based upon the cooperative Campaign gameplay.
“It would’ve been a massive technical rewrite of code, and we didn’t think it would have been the right thing to invest in anyway because it’s meant to be a cooperative experience you have with friends.”

The friends I have on my friends list aren’t people I’d want an intimate anything with. Fuck that shit, when I beat Horde, I did it with strangers, my friends had no patience. I call Bullshit.
MP isn’t a fucking intimate experience, yet circle jerking in Firefight is supposed to be yes? This is where Halo fails for me, no campaign co-op matchmaking, and now this?
And no, I don’t want to dick around with having to find people on Bungie.com to play with and plan it out ahead of time, I want to play it fucking now, and not rely on some guy across the coast to bother booting up.
