It seems the developers of Shadow Complex overlooked quite an important default when compiling the program. Many gamers have discovered that by simply pressing the ‘Start Button’ at the end of the trial allows them to play through every part of the game on demo mode.

SavyGamer who made the discovery reported on his blog:

Essentially, keep hammering the start button as soon as the big spider robot starts exploding, and as soon as it will let you, select “load last save”.

This glitch allows you to play the full game of Shadow Complex just from the Demo. It essentially skips the point where the demo ends, and lets you carry on for the rest of the game. I’ve tested it myself, and can confirm it works.

I assume you’ll need to play the whole game in one setting, since I don’t think you’ll be able to resume you game from the demo, but it’s not too long a game anyway.

I think it’s probably for the best if you treat it like an extended demo. If you play beyond the demo, and enjoy it, then buy it. You’ll probably want to replay it anyway.

It is known that Chair & Epic Games have been informed of the glitch by TheGamingSite who are awaiting the outcome on how they plan to stop everyone playing the full game in the future.

It currently is not known if the achievements are unlocked by playing the game fully on demo mode (we doubt it) but obtaining achievements with this method if it’s possible may get your gamerscore wiped from MS by violating their terms.

The game is available on the Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 MS Points for those wishing to purchase it.
