COD:MW2 Exploiters Beware!
As many of you are recovering from a late night session on MW2 with a breakfast of Pro-Plus, you might have come across the Javelin glitch or an unlimited ammo glitch. Maybe you are one of the offenders? Well you might be happy or bummed to know that Microsoft is not taking the matter lightly. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned from Xbox Live.
For those who do not know of the “Javelin glitch”, it attaches a Javelin Missile to the glitcher’s back. If you shoot it, it will kill you if you’re close enough. If you kill the glitcher, the missile will explode and kill you and all the players within the blast area.
This glitch has now been successfully patched.
The other glitch that’s cropping up a lot is the unlimited ammo glitch as seen in the video below. This is somehow to do with the patch that was just released. I wouldn’t worry about it. If you pop into a game and the glitch is active everyone is affected.
If you do decide to go to youtube and try glitches out for yourself….beware! You may get banned! Xbox Live’s Director of Policy and Enforcement Stephen Toulouse spoke about the Javelin glitch. He said “Using the exploit is cheating, and thus contravenes the service’s terms of use.” Possibly it may be for only 24 hours but if you repeat the action again and get caught, the ban could be made permanent.
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has tweeted that the developer is working on a fix for the glitch. I’m sure there will be another title update soon to fix this and any other problem the patch has incurred.
I’m reasonably happy that offenders will get punished. GOW2 is a prime example of a glitchers dream. If only Microsoft used the same assertiveness with all the other Xbox live games. At the end of the day, the Xbox Live terms of use does clearly state that abusing exploits, glitches, cheats, or unauthorised mods will not be tolerated.

Heh - they can’t be too “on it” as today on Xbox EVERYONE seems to have infinite grenades/rockets/grenade launchers/Javelins/Stingers - resulting in a total clusterfrag of a match. It’s awful, headache inducing, and totally lame.
I played 2 games with the ammo glitch, not realizing it was a glitch and had a blast. Maybe they should add this glitch as normal for a day and let everyone get it out of their system.
The glitch is due to the patch they released. This will surely and quickly be rectified. As far as banning goes. I wouldnt worry bout it.
If you force glitches you might have a problem though.
I saw the ammo glitch today and it was some crazy shit man. I went +20 on every match and gained 4 levels in less than an hour. I want a semi-auto NooB Tube all the time now. Almost felt sorry for the snipers….Almost!!!
so, i played today with this glitch, thought it was a one game thing, then all the sudden i found myself in a world of fun for over an hour…what fun, its actually kind of challenging haha,
fuck this glitch.. i just finished playing for about an hour and i wasn’t able to enjoy it.. 4 out of the 5 games(one of which ended as quick as it started) involved a tactical nuke and at least 1 AC130.. the longer Microsoft takes to resolve this problem the more people will wrongfully upgrade their levels, etc. it just takes from the fun..
This was fun for the first few games, but bows it’s old and I can’t seem to find a normal game!
The unlimited ammo glitch is fun… until you get a RROD. I played one game with the glitch in effect, thought it was kinda fun except for the repeated deaths. The second game started up just fine, until the screen became quite pixelated with multiple colors. Turned to Xbox off, turned it back on, got the RROD…

Yes, really. Luckily I still had another 2 weeks left on my Best Buy extended warranty and they replaced the Xbox fairly quickly. But I will definitely avoid MW2 until this glitch is patched.
From the looks of it, my guess is that the repeated explosions, may have caused the graphics card to overheat or become otherwise damaged. I did get the e74 grey screen when I had turned the old Xbox back on and got the RROD.
i never knew that could happen.. damn and im pretty much done my exams for the sem and it would have been good to play.. that blows man..
Played last night and again today and never saw the glitch. Maybe it’s not as widespread as I thought it whould be.
I agree with that last post. It’s not that widespread. Whenever you come across a game in which something looks odd, just leave and join another game.
The other day, I joined a game already in progress in Rundown, and there were these two guys shooting the grenade launcher repeatedly with no end. They were lucky it wasnt a hardcore match, or i would of done some friendly fire. I just left, and joined another game. It’s just that simple.
This unlimited ammo thing does remind me of gameshark. But thing is, gameshark never worked on multiplayer mode. the game would just go out of sync.
Theres a glitch at the minute which is 1 Kill 1 Prestige, hows that for ruining the game!!!
I fear getting banned for playing - but I didnt host the match & nor was I wasting the opportunity to leave.
Yeah I doudt they can ban everyone who plays these glitched matches. I mean if your doing the normal search you get put in em 1/2 the time anyway. When I get in em I play em out cause if I quit I lose about 10k in match bonus which makes up alot of the game total anyway. Hey jay inv me next time your in the match you just mention and im online..haha
haha it was day before yesterday around 3am I thought - one final game before bed. It was one of those awful private match types. There were 2 teams yet I had shot one of my own teammates & got ranked up. Went into barracks & Prestiged to 10. But I am getting grief messages from people who are bitter - not that they know how I got to 10th Prestige, but just because I am a 10th Prestige person with a lovely gold Title & Emblem.
Im also playing pretty crap since Im at level 12 again & lost all my nice perks & weapons.
is it just me or does anyone else think this site is turning increasingly gay with all the bullshit “i got ripped” adverts plastered all over it. Why can’t we have some naked chicks instead please
Well…ive never seen the glitch and it seems kinda fun..it looks awsome with the ranger just shooting bullets rapidly
and PS: People who hate noob tubers..OH WELL GET OVER IT! if you don’t like noob tubers DO NOT PLAY THE GAME BECAUSE SOMEONES GOING TO ALWAYS NOOB TUBE!!
