XBLA: Midway Games Removed

Midway Games, who published and developed titles such as Mortal Kombat, Ms. Pac-Man, Spy Hunter, and Tron owe a staggering $240 Million in company debts. Since filing for bankruptcy lasy year some of the franchises were sold off, the company has since disolved - and now Microsoft has removed Midway Games from the Xbox Live Arcade.

The Midway games that have disappeared include Cyberball 2072, Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Root Beer Tapper, Smash TV, Paperboy and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. If you have already purchased these games, they are still playable and available to re-download, but not available to purchase.

It has also been spotted that some retailers are selling redeem codes for these games (Amazon, Ebay), but the codes will be deemed void when entering them on the Xbox360 console or your account on Xbox.com.
