The achievements obtainable in the upcoming SEGA Sonic 4 Episode 1 reveal the return of a much loved playable feature ‘Super Sonic’ which first started in Sonic 2. In the good old days all you had to do was find all the Emeralds, collect 50 rings and jump to be converted in a Super Fast Golden Hedgehog who was near on invincible until the effects wore off.

The 12 Achievements as listed on X360A totalling 200 Gamerscore are listed below:

• The Story Begins - Clear SPLASH HILL ZONE, ACT 1. (5)
• Crush Dr. Eggman - Defeat a boss for the first time. (5)
• The First Chaos - Emerald Acquire a Chaos Emerald. (5)
• Enemy Hunter - Defeat 1,000 enemies. (10)
• Golden Flash - Clear all Acts as Super Sonic. (10)
• All Stages Cleared! - Defeat the final boss and view the ending. (10)
• Contender - Upload your recorded scores and clear times for all stages. (10)
• Ring Collector - Collect all the Rings in ‘Special Stage 1′ and Clear the stage. (15)
• Immortal - Build up 99 or more extra lives. (25)
• Super Sonic Genesis - Acquire all seven Chaos Emeralds. (30)
• Speed’s My Game - Clear SPLASH HILL ZONE ACT 1 in less than a minute. (35)
• Untouchable - Clear the E.G.G. STATION ZONE without taking any damage. (40)

The latest April issue of Game Informer has revealed even more information on Sonic 4: Episode 1 including minor details on Episode 2 as detailed by the developers.

• Episode 1 is a prologue to the main story
• Tails and Knuckles are teased to return in Episode 2
• Moves include: Spin Dash, Rolling Attack, Homing Attack and a fourth mystery one
• Classic special stages will be returning
• The graphics aren’t 3D, but CG pre-renders
• Getting all the emeralds results in a cliffhanger tease for Episode 2
