First Modern Warfare 2 DLC Dated [UPDATE]
Who is still playing Modern Warfare 2? …Okay a lot of people. So that’s lot of people, playing the same maps, over, over and over… You would think by now some people might be a bit bored of constantly playing the same maps four months straight. You would be right. Well, Infinity Ward have your back! The first map pack will be available on the 30th of March. Oh and did i mention, its 360 exclusive? At least for a while…
It’s common knowledge that the avid Modern Warfare 2 player has wanted some new maps for a while, at least now they know exactly how long they have to wait with Infinity Ward’s release of the mapathy page. Designed to help calm the nerves of all you CoD freaks out there. No other information such as price or when this content will hit other platforms is mentioned.
Expect slow download speeds as thousands of people jump onto the marketplace March 30th for this.
[Update] Activision have announced that the name of the DLC will be the “Stimulus Package” and that Xbox Live Silver members will be able to play MW:2 for free between 12th March and 15th March. Maybe that will be enough to get some more Silver members to ‘bling out their gamertag’ …Y’know… Go gold..? Bling?

No. I’m not buying them and i’m in the playdate. Not spending that much money on one night of gaming. Worry not people, plus it should be privet games hosted by us anyway. So its upto us what maps are played. I advise none of us buying the pack til after the night IF anyone plans on getting it. I know i’m not.
At first the DLC will have its own place on the Lobby for a few weeks and not be in the main matches. So if any of us do get them, we just choose not to play in the DLC Option Lobby
Plus we’re gonna be playing privet games so each map is specifically chosen. We wont be playing public games.
The new DLC has three new maps and two old ones, and it also has new perks and guns.
The new perks include Overkill (from the last game), a perk to switch weapons faster, and a perk to toggle thermal on and off when you have a thermal scope. If you’ve ever been EMPed and had a thermal scope on your gun, you’ll know what it looks like.
No idea what the new guns are…
That said, I hope they bring the (real) M14 or G3 back. I want more semi-auto rifles.
Where is your source for the weapons & perks? I can’t find details anywhere…

Yeah, that is actually probably going to be true… also who knows what modders will be able to exploit next after the new patch. It always seems to be after a patch that something new is discovered!
Because they are forced to look again, find new exploit, take the piss with it till its patched, find something else to annoy people. Kids these days. No idea how to play games properly.

nice. it’s always fun to play on a fresh map where no one knows any of its advantages.
Didn’t know you gut’s were having a playdate. Me wants to play, me play nice, me love you long time!!! Seriously though I was a host on the XbA christmas playdate. It took two weeks before I stoped being bombarded by FR’s and random invites *shuders* never want to do that again. You could do what i did and invite people to your party, but then join a public room. Play 3 matches and then rinse and repeat with new peeps. It worked out pretty nice.
Can’t wait for these maps as I still love MW 2. I never did have all the problems you guy’s seemed to have with it.
Looks like I got till the 30th to finish off the Multi-Player chevo’s in Battlefeild:BC2.
Buying it for sure. I just started playing MW2 for the first time a couple weeks ago. Still fresh for me.
Can’t wait for the ps3 version =)
Maybe IW will be nice, and include something extra for us for the wait.
