Yesterday was the debut release of the ‘Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack DLC’ for Bioshock 2, it is the first of several planned downloadable packages, containing a number of customization features that will allow players to further their character’s development in BioShock 2’s multiplayer modes.

As we previously reported, the pack includes:

• Rank Increase to level 50 with Rank Rewards
• New playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca
• 20 new trials*
• A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
• Five additional masks*

The pack, which costs 400 Microsoft Points is a 108kb download file on the Xbox 360, and 24kb on the PC which suggests the file is only an unlock key for game content already included on the disc. When you make a purchase of any disc, whether it be music, video or game - you are already paying for all its content.

Anger is already rife on the 2K Bioshock Official Forums with one angry poster appropriately commenting:

I hereby retract my prior rabid support for 2K and their DLC model. I was suckered into believing that this was actually going to contain some legitimate content that was not in existence prior to the release. I suppose my capitalist mindset has fooled me into thinking that companies would not actually charge for an empty box.

Shame on you 2K.

Shame on you indeed 2K, but if you are against being ripped off by 108kb files that unlocks rather than download content, then please check the filesize before making any future purchases.
