Final Fantasy XIII has become the fastest selling title in the franchise history in the UK, Germany and France, as well as having the proud record of the fastest selling game of 2010 so far respectively! The game was released on March 9th for the Xbox360 and PS3 following high profile TV spots and branded buses that are still travelling around the UK - have you seen one?

More impressive news worth mentioning is that cumulative global shipments of the Final Fantasy series have now reached a staggering 96 million units since the first game was launched over two decades ago. Jon Brooke, the UK Marketing Director for the game who is positive that the title will get bigger and bigger says “It’s great to see Final Fantasy XIII hitting the top of the UK charts and setting the pace as the fastest selling game of the year,”

Square Enix are confident that the Final Fantasy series stands out thanks to its ongoing evolution, using only the best creative ideas, the best graphics standards and the best gameplay systems. All of which are available at the time when a new part in the series is developed and are included in the game. This tradition has been continued in Final Fantasy XIII - and clearly paid off!

A future release in the series currently in development for PC and PS3 ‘Final Fantasy IV’ which will be a massively multiplayer online role-playing game has not been confirmed for release on the Xbox360.
