MI6, the association dedicated to supporting marketing, promotion and advertising professionals in the video game and interactive entertainment community (not to be confused with the UK Secret Intelligence Service), hosted a festive awards show to honor the best marketing work in the video game industry, wrapping up the action-packed fifth annual MI6 Conference.
The 2010 MI6 Conference held this year on April 1st in San Francisco, was buzzing all day with over 400 top marketing executives from the industry whilst comedian Ryan Stout hosted the evening and kept the crowd laughing. Assassinâ€™s Creed 2 took home the most gold with seven MI6 Awards, including the highly competitive â€śOutstanding Overall Integrated Marketing Campaignâ€ť award.
In addition to Ubisoftâ€™s Assassinâ€™s Creed 2 picking up seven gold awards, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and NBA 2K10 were each awarded four gold Awards. Award categories include everything from â€śOutstanding Promotional Trailer,â€ť to â€śBest Swag,â€ť to â€śMost Effective Buzz Creation.â€ť The full list of MI6 Award winners can be found here.
Also this year, game consumers had the opportunity to weigh in on which game had the best marketing campaign of 2009, answering the question:

More than 11,000 gamers cast their votes online and selected Killzone 2 with 43% of the vote as the winner.
