After our previous reports on the credibility of the ICE modchip reader j0k3r now points us towards a mysterious announcement on the chip’s homepage reading that production of the chip has been delayed and that they apologise for the fake pictures.

The full message reads:

Chip delayed due to security issues, which is being fixed shortly. Retailer list is growing apply now to be listed quickly! Previous pictures that were posted was due to a falling out between the team webmaster, and the team lead. Those pictures are confirmed fake, and not a prototype whatsoever, please delete them. The final version will have nothing to do with those pictures whatsoever, and will be composed of an actel chip placed on a pcb board.

So they acknowledge the earlier pictures were indeed fakes, and due to security issues the chip is delayed. Aaah now that clears things up. I’m putting 5 dollars on that the delay is about 2.5 months and the final release date will be April 1st, anyone with me?
