Split/Second Demo Coming This Week [UPDATE]

Nick Baynes, the director of the upcoming ‘Split/Second’ racer has revealed in an interview with Major Nelson that a demo is coming exclusively to Xbox LIVE Marketplace this week.

Speaking with Major Nelson on his podcast, Baynes said:

“There’s a demo exclusively out on Xbox, which is out this week I believe, so everyone will be able to play the airport track very, very soon on Xbox 360″

In Split Second, players take part in a fictional reality TV programme where participants race for money and glory. Throughout a race, players can build up their “powerplay” meter by performing stunts such as jumps and precision driving such as passing very close to objects and drifting.

A recently released trailer is shown above to give you an idea of gameplay.

Split/Second will be released in North America on May 18th and in Europe on May 21st for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Within the last few minutes the demo has appeared on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace already.

Awesome! Queued up ready for later, have been looking forward to this for a while. Hopefully it will live up to expectations.

I just downloaded it and gave it a go. It’s pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself. Oh, and for racing purists out there, there is an inside the car view. Something that had me worried for a while. Can’t wait for the full game now! This or Blur…
