Halo: Reach Beta to Last 17 Days

Bungie has announced that the heavily anticipated Beta for Halo: Reach will run for 17 days, starting on May 3 and ending on May 19. That’s two good weeks of pwning noobs from the sky, assassinating unaware opponents, and, why of course, teabag parties in Bungie’s latest multiplayer concoction.

All throughout the Beta, Bungie will make new playlists available. Below, you can peruse the current schedule of events:

  • Grab Bag - May 3
  • Free For All - May 3
  • Arena - May 3
  • Invasion - May 7
  • Network Test 1 - May 14

Anyone who partakes in the Beta and plays at least one full game of any type will receive a Halo: Reach Avatar hoodie via Halo Waypoint. Silver members might also want to mark their calendars for the “Halo Multiplayer Unlock Weekend” which will make online multiplayer for the Beta, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 3 free for all Xbox Live members between May 14 and May 17.

Want to make the most of the Beta? Call in sick, re-direct your girlfriend’s phone calls, stock up on supplies (don’t forget about empty plastic bottles for you know what!), hang that “Please don’t disturb” sign – just to make sure your loved ones will get the message – and, finally, lock that door like you mean it! Voila, all set.

That Avatar hoodie is a nice addition :)

Perhaps Bungie should also provide Beta players with some kind of special insignia for thier Halo profile when Reach finally releases. That would be a nice addition as well.

I bet you any money it gets extended.

I’m in the Friends & Family Beta, expect a hands-on news post over the weekend before the public May 3rd opening…

Just in case anyone is interested in my impressions.

I’ll be happy to read them ;) .
